Video Editing

Post by Pikolim »

Hello guys!

I am seeking for a video editing tool. Preferably one for newbies but with all necessary features like merging, cutting, overlay editing, etc.

Any recommendations?

I like the old Microsoft Movie Maker for easy edits. It was discontinued in 2017 but you can still find it on CNET and other places:

I only install the Photo Gallery and Movie Maker part and deselect the Writer, Messenger and Mail portion of Windows Essentials 2012.

Some say the Video Editor in Windows 10 is a good (and free) replacement but like the older Maker.

Hey guys! I started off learning video editing recently with Shotcut. It’s free and pretty beginner-friendly once you get the hang of the layout. It doesn’t look flashy, but it definitely gets the basics done, cutting, transitions, and simple overlays were pretty straightforward. I moved on to Premiere Pro later, but for starting out, I liked that Shotcut didn’t overwhelm me with too many pro-level features upfront.

If you're looking to do more serious projects later on, like marketing or corporate videos, I’d suggest checking out an Edmonton Videographer I came across who handles full production workflows. Pretty cool to watch their process and learn how editing ties into the bigger picture.

In my posts all fees and requirements are the standard R&R but TIT and a brown envelope can make incredible changes YMMV.
