You have to buy a new phone if you want to still use our system

Balderdash - it isn't the phones losing access, it is the operating system.

Just update your OS to a compliant version.

EDIT: Just for some perspective, Android 4.0.4 was released in June 2012. If your phone is that old, it is probably time to lash out and upgrade.

I remember when dinosaurs still roamed the earth, I upgraded my version of windows, only to find out that the scanner driver was not compatible with the new version. Lucky for me, I discovered that my 2mega pixel digital camera (not a phone) took jpg photos that worked just as well as most scans.
I wouldn't call this a 'con', rather a sign of the times keeping up with technology.

How is something not a "con" if they refuse to support something they sold you and you purchased in good faith, that you have looked after and still works as well as the day you got it

I'm not a user of Whatsapp but from what I've read it's free so where's the purchase. Guess complainers can always go back to letter writing and snail mailing their messages.

Statto, one good reason it is not a "con" is because WhatsApp is free - so "they" didn't sell it to you, and you don't puchase it.

It is entirely your choice whether or not you install it on your phone. And if you choose to do so, it would be in accordance with the terms and conditions that attach to the app.

Edit: Stan beat me to it.

Dont know Niggles, i'm still on 10, so have 85 more versions to get through, but fully expect them to have brought out at least that many "New versions" in the next 18 months or so

BTW I heard they are upgrading to Air 2.0 in the near future so if your still breathing the old oxygen based air you had better get an upgrade quickly

You’ve got to catch up. I’m already on Air 40.0 in the sunny south. You ought to come & try it, it’s delicious

Let's see if Vauxhall can get me some new door handles for my low-mileage, concours condition '72 Firenza.

why would you want new door handles if the old ones are still in perfect condition?? Stick with the ones that you know will do everything that you need them to do (opening the doors), i've heard the new ones with video sensors so you can park mm's from a wall are crap at opening doors (due to there being a wall mm's away)

Because they are displaying signs of age related problems which are likely to manifest themselves just when you really need the door handles to do their job i.e. open the doors.
Also, tenuously linking door handles back to the OP on computer software, some pesky kids might now be able to pick the locks easily enough & steal your pride & joy (personal data) so the security needs updating.

Damn those pesky kids

At least the risk of losing the go faster furry dice to a passing chav has been dramatically reduced

I think he'd be more worried about losing his Tiger tails hanging from his rear view mirror and his complete set of England Winners 1966 Esso tokens he has hidden in his glove compartment, to say nothing about his "churchill" nodding dog in the back window ........ aw no no no no

Obviously never owned a Firenza and had a door handle snap off in the pub car park.

The passenger side one went outside Woolies on Union Street a few weeks later.

OK, it's ALMOST concours edition.
