This is the one I use and it works all round my garden but at the apartments I've had routers hard wired either end. This is the cheaper option.

Yes the routers in the apartments are TP link, very good quality.

I got one of these from China a couple of years ago, and it works very well.

I have tested it up to about 20 metres, across 2 separate houses. The secret it to place it so it is not too close to your router, or the receiving device(s). I power it with a power bank, but it will obviously work off any convenient source with a USB port.

There are a number of YouTube reviews.

TP Link makes good stuff that's easy to set up and is reliable. Don't confuse it with D-Link gear which is dogshyte.

3BB has just come (2 weeks ago) and run a fibre optic cable into my home and GIVEN me a new router (free of charge). I have tested it up passed our school, gotta be 150 metres. Jack knows where I am and the distance!
Off coarse they didn't pull out the old cable, is it any wonder there is so much pollution hanging on the power poles!!!!!

BTW, near on trebled my access speed to over 66Mb/s average in both directions. Me = a happy vegemite.

Both directions surely upload speed much slower than download?

No, I use speedtest.com, probably the best connection site available.

Seems you are right if app can believed (just downloaded it) we are getting 200 Mbps download and 250 upload here in Udon, certainly surprised me but I'm not too tech minded

Speedtest will give a snapshot of what your connection is capable of to the the nearest test server - typically Khon Kaen or Bangkok.

After that you are totally at the mercy of what the international "pipes" are doing inwards and outwards from Thailand.

Having said that, kopkei is really only interested in what his connection can do next door. :D

Any further suggestions there?

Yes that’s awful for Thailand.

Here’s a reading I’ve just done, across WiFi on an old iPad and I would say this is slower than usual.

Calling me Brit is more insulting than calling me a parasite, not sure why you decided to attack my post but ok as we Scots say FREEDOM of speech

The ping at 31 ms usually indicates a fault or issue at the server end, could be your internet service provider had problems and you were being directed to another server. I would try again to see what readings you get and check the package you signed up for

The WiFi network you are on can also play a part. Same location, same device Different networks.

PS I’m actually on a 75/30 FTTH package that TOT has temporarily increased the speed due to the virus.

One of the very rare instances where a virus is actually good news for computers.

In my posts all fees and requirements are the standard R&R but TIT and a brown envelope can make incredible changes YMMV.

Yes if course and also the type of cable you have i.e. Cat 6 or fibre, I use 3bb now as I found true choked the speed and no real complaints about the service we get.
