Given that he wrote it in 1949 I think we should forgive George that he was a few years out with the date.

We have gradually been moving towards 'Newspeak' & media manipulation for years now & the 'War on... (terror, drugs, whatever) is also indicative of the predicted perpetual war, just a bit more subtle. Then Wikileaks gave us an insight into the massive Government surveillance already being undertaken.
Now we have the final bit of the equation, the listening box in the corner..

I don't care what your calendar says....1984 is finally & truly with us just as Orwell predicted..

I'm waiting for the Google smart car that drives itself. It probably will record everything that happens INSIDE as well as outside the vehicle!

OT experienced a very romantic, intimate and memorable time in my truck at Macros car park late one night. Not the most beautiful place in Udon Thani but I will never forget that romantic time with my sweetheart.
If two people are smitten by each other nothing else matters. Plus I'd had the truck cleaned at Tescos earlier that day.
