Nice find Prenders..
She was a bit "I have been so brave, going to the edge of beyond" - but she is a jorno so I guess that is OK, or understandable.
2 Grand for 10 day holiday in Udon sounds good value   Maybe there is room for a Falang selling "Issan holidays" back in UK after all.... :D :D
Some of the "comments" added by Individuals are a bit 'strange' too....

my only advice is - make sure there is a toilet nearby - when you sample the ' village food' - it comes out just as fast as it comes in - apart from that its 'a beautiful place - would recommend the view of Nong Bua from the top of the hill ( mountain for me) My wife calls it ' Phu Pha noi ' - as the suns sets its stunning

The Green Gecko where they have 10 nights half board gets some good reviews on Trip Advisor.
Its address is listed as A.Prajak Sinlapakhom,Udon Thani.
I've never heard of it before.Anyone stayed there ?

It looks to be east of Kumphawapi. Have never stayed there.

Yes you right Issan is not a province, it's a region.
Look below and look at the readers comments, one of the readers corrects the hack's poor research, and reminds the hack what you also noticed BM.
Our very own Izzix has already posted a comment.

Interesting article. And yep, near two ground for 10 days sound a bit "overpriced" for me but since it includes fligths and b&b and excursions with an english-speaking guide, maybe that is about right.
