The only problems are in the center of town where I live! The drains are full or clogged,so any rain jusy settles and stays! The river has receded anout 4-5 feet!

There is no reason that you would have any problems unless GWB ''conspired'' with China to empty the dams on the day you go to immigration

Hi

My first post so please be kind

Whats the current situation regarding the flooding in Nong Khai , before anyone says read the forum I have and it seems to be improving.

But I am not sure of the situation after the recently mentioned rain.

Particularly interested in the promenade area.

Thanks

The river is down considerably and the promenade area never flooded!

Hi BKKstan

Thanks for prompt reply...But I must admit my inquiries are purely selfish! I am intending to have one of those imprinted driveways laid just as on the promenade by the river and I was wondering how it stood up to being submerged during the flooding.

But it sounds as though it was never underwater, is that correct?

Thanks again

TBWG :D

PS Hope none of the forum members suffered badly in the recent crisis

The promenade area was never flooded! Some of the homes and businesses on the Western end of the town received overflow from the river, beginning with the Mutmee Guest house. The river came up to about 6" from the top of the wall along the promenade and the city drainage system was unable to drain and then became plugged up for awhile causing subsequent rain showers to accumulate on many of the sois throughout the center of town including my soi!

Very little damage was done within the city because the river was a slow day to day rise allowing plenty of preparation!

Inside of the car smells abit and I had to replace the starter.I am not mechanical, but I assume that both are water related!
