Big Snake guest house John died!

Post by BKKSTAN » May 21, 2007, 10:22 am

Any of you that might have known John from NZ that built the Big Snake guest house resort in Phon Phosai,I received a call a few minutes ago to inform me that on his visa run to VTE,he collapsed and died from an apparent heart attack. You can contact his wife at the guest house for dertails.I was told that his remains were at the NK hospital awaiting relatives from NZ for services Thursday!I understand that he was about 50 and in seemingly good shape at the time,so it is quite shocking!

too sad. we have cardiac patients that ranges from 29 yrs - 44 yrs old. some that doesn't take care of themselves and those who seem healthy were just born with a bad heart. so we never know... life is too short and unexpected. my condolences to Mr John's family.

Hi all,

My name is Harley Trethewey, John's son from New Zealand.

I was wondering if anyone had any contact details for Ying (jarinyar), John's widow, as the email I have been trying recently has gone quiet....

If anyone has any information about her contact details that they could share, it would be greatly appreciated.

I was yesterday in the garden from BIGSNAKE to make this picture, because the new owner asked me to help him with a webpage.

Hello Harley,
So sad to hear that John died. He was the bass guitarist in my band The Dream Machine (1969/1970). If I remmeber correctly he was only 15, and he was already an excellent bass guitarist. John took over on bass after his older brother Mark left the band. I have photos of the band with both Mark and John if you're interested.

Hi there Rolando,

Sorry that it has taken me such a long time to reply. I live in New Zealand, so it's not possible for me to meet up in person. However, any information about Jarinyar that you have would be greatly appreciated. You can reach me via [email protected].

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Harley.

Another Mighty Totara tree has fallen

Takoto mai e John
takoto rangimarie i runga i to waka
Nou te karanga o te ra
Kua naaro koe ki to Po
Kua Wheturangitia koe
Takahia te ara ki te Reinga
He totara nui koe, he tangata rongonui
He tangata kaha, he matua mahana
Moe mai i to moenga roa
Waiho mai nga taonga mo o mokopuna
Ka hotuhotu te manawa mou
Katahi te Pouritanga
Takoto, takoto, takoto e te Rangatira, a John...
