The Spamhouse Project and UD Map

Post by waanjai » December 9, 2015, 3:39 pm

Every second or third week - when I just finished a post and want to send it to the server of UD Map - I get a message from Ud Map:

"Your IP 1.xx.yyy.zzz has been blocked because it is blacklisted. For details please see http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=1.xx.yyy.zzz. ( IP edited)

When you then click on the given link you can easily remove the blocked IP from the lists maintained by Spamhouse.

All you have to do is: To provide the blocked IP, the name of the hosting IP, and your e-mail.

The name of the host is in my case always the dynamic IP number assignment system of TOT Thailand. The host that is constantly assigning their lot of fixed IPs to their clients of DSL

Then You instantly get a confirmation by Spamhouse via e-mail:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Spamhaus Project - Composite Snowshoe Senders (CSS) - Email Policy System
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Verification/Confirmation Code: xxxxx
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Someone claiming to be zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz has submitted a request to
remove the IP Address 1.xx.yyy.zzz from the Spamhaus CSS database. This
request was received from [1.xx.yyy.zzz] at 2015-12-09 5:41:50 UTC.

If this was you, you can now activate your request by entering the
code xxxxx' at the Spamhaus CSS Removals page or by clicking
on the following link:

http://www.spamhaus.org/css/removal/ver ... zzzz_xxxxx

Spamhaus CSS Robot
The Spamhaus Project
http://www.spamhaus.org/css/

----------------------------------------------------------------------
NOT YOU? If you did not make this request, simply do nothing. You do
not need to respond. The request will auto-expire unless activated.
This message is sent by a robot, please do not reply to this email.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Once done this, you will have to wait some 30 minutes. Then you are unblocked again.

Now the question: Who has allowed Spamhouse project to block the IPs of registered UDM users? There would be no blocking and de-blocking at all, if there is no permission to them.

This type of support question is best sent to UM staff.

You can PM UM-Tech, a Moderator, or email [email protected]

Thread locked, future users can refer to the default answer I've just given as the go-to option for most tech questions vs. asking the user population.
