Marj is Watchman and Red67? Well, I'll be jiggered.

Humans are animals. "The difference between humans and other animals" would be better. If the point is Australia has had some poorly performing PMs, I'd agree. I wouldn't call say Rudd or Abbott dumb, but I think they performed poorly.

Is Morrison still behaving himself? It's refreshing on the federal stage for Australia not to have a defeated leader trying to pull down his own team.

There's one thing I really enjoy about Kevin Rudd. That's his enthusiasm at bashing Team Murdoch.

How the hell does Bruce Lehrmann get a fair trial? Lisa Wilkinson must have gone close to contempt of court. Gender politics makes it impossible to dismiss the case because of the gender circus.

I would temper your view of the incident a bit. Remember the libs wanted to sweep this under the mat, it was the press that raised attention to the point that the police investigated.

Compared to the press on Chris Dawson trial for murder in Sydney, the Lehrmann story got much less coverage.

The word ‘allegedly’ does not come into play when the media are making reference to the forthcoming trial. Sadly, we are locked into trial by media in Australia.

Imagine if a male TV personality said enouraging words to the defendant in the same circumstances. The shxt would really hit the fan. Wilkinson knew what she was doing.

You saying Rupert Murdoch can influence judge and jury in an Australian court of law?

PS: Just heard he's "single and looking" again.

The Dirty American? I believe some of the girls in Soi Samphan might be interested.

I'll read up on the Dawson case. I'm not familiar with that one. As for Lehrmann, I just want him to have a fair trial.

GT 93,That was what l was alluding to in relation to Lehrmann, not Dawson. With Dawson's trial the media would prefer to be able to comment and steer public opinion during the ongoing trial, however their fear of contempt of court charges makes them reluctantly resist the temptation.

I went to school with the Dawson twins, and was subject to their bullying for years. Hard to find two nastier dudes than those two

Here's some filler for your Dawson catchup.

Trial date reset for 3 months. Lucy McCallum is ex NSW Supreme Court. I think she is trying to make a name for herself in her new role in ACT. She is a highly technical jurist so I am sure the trial will be conducted properly

Greens senator Lidia Thorpe
“The Australian flag does not represent me or my people,” she told the panel.

“It represents the colonisation of these lands, and it has no permission to be here, there’s been no consent, there’s been no treaty, so that flag does not represent me.”

Ms Thorpe said she also removes the Australian national flag during press conferences after Greens leader Adam Bandt was this week criticised for the same move.

Host Waleed Aly asked if her argument could also apply to the Australian parliament in which she serves.

“Absolutely, I’m here to infiltrate,” she replied.
