Hide user name on log in .

I don't want a long discussion on the why's and where fores of doing so just an answer to my question.Since the forum revamp I notice that despite ticking the hide log in details when signing in, my name keeps appearing at the bottom of the subject I am viewing and also on the whose been on line column. I have PM'd Udon Map as to why and at first got a don't know what your talking about reply , after writing again making myself completely clear,I thought, as to my query, I haven't received the courtesy of a reply .Has any one else who uses this facility noticed this problem?

I think that only Paul (or Udon Tech) can give you the answer Val.
Paul does not appear to be very active at the moment & it would not surprise me if he was back in the USA.

From what I can see (which is little !!) it looks to me like the system believes that it is acting as before - i.e. hiding those members who have asked to be hidden from general view.

Well although I still haven't received the courtesy of a reply either by Pm or on this topic, it looks as though my concern must have been noted as my name no longer appears on the subject I am viewing, but it stll appears quite clearly on the "Who is on line " at the bottom of the forum .
I suppose I should subscibe to the silence is golden theory but as the job has only been partially resolved I am unable to.

They managed to go from No Problem Up date to massive problem f***up date overnight and 12 months later they still haven't managed to sort it despite seeming to change most of it's staff and losing hundreds of thousands of paying customers

Would you be so kind as to send me a screen shot, please? I am unable to reproduce this. When I am not logged in, the POST REPLY button does appear at the bottom; but when I click on it, I get a message saying that I have to be logged in to post.

Trubrit, surely you can be a bit more charitable than that and consider the possibility that there's a reason other than lack of courtesy. I've been in the U.S. for a little more than a week for a medical issue. Not life threatening, but serious enough. Got back to Udon this evening.

So I gather that part of the problem seems to have resolved itself? Or all of it?

Would you be so kind as to email me with the current status, please? I'll be happy to address the problem(s) with you, but have found that this process becomes unmanageable when done in the public forum.

There may be a cookie or similar in your computer which lists you as online even though the heart of the UM system knows that you're not.

I'm not sure that I understand. So the fact that you were online was hidden; but that someone was online was not.

I think noosard is saying that he is logged on normally but (in a thread) is not being shown as being online.
As has just proved to be the case with me on a completely different thread...

Ah, I see now. Same thing happening to me. Interesting, though, as the "ONLINE" diagonal banner in the top right of the post does show correctly. OK, I'll take a look. Thanks.
