AH the word "PLAN"
A most usefull and Dangerous word
"We dont Plan to Fail, but we do Fail to Plan"

How many times have we seen that and heard that?
Here we are 10 days prior to November 1 and of those 10 Days 6 Days are actual working days ( 25 Monday individual Chulalongkorn Memorial Day)
THat doesnt leave much time to Plan, Prepare and Execute
So much for Tourist arrivals

It appears that the PM does not have a grip on power like many assume. It's as if his announcement that the country would reopen on Nov 1 doesn't hold much weight. Further, there is no official channel or person capable enough to communicate the new entry requirements in sufficient detail to satisfy prospective travelers. Truly a sad state of affairs as of now, 10 days out.

I suspect a better offer may have been received which requires attention first ...... perhaps TAT, hoteliers and airlines etc may wish to reconsider what they have on the table?

Can you imagine the stress the Thai business people are going through right now, the uncertainties? Vendors, small shops, etc. This on again and off again, the anticipation of finally being able to make a living again, then to get shot down over and over again. I feel for them.

From that unofficial 7-item 'release' of what's being proposed that I posted earlier, I see a 50% reduction in the amount of Covid-specific insurance required and no mention of the fully-vaccinated having to wait 14-days since the last/second shot before getting on their flight to Thailand.

If they make it to the cabinet-approved version, those look like a couple of positive steps towards reducing the hurdles needed to come to Thailand. All they need to do is get a better handle on this PCR test-on-arrival and the 24/48 hour 'quarantine' requirements

Interesting that UK is one of 46 eligable countries considering the 4th wave is just starting there, they are currently seeing a massive increase in positive cases, and those are not even close to the real figures. The 50k figures they are recording are just new cases .... anyone catching it a second time is not counted as a NEW infection in govt statistics

It's the start of the regular flu season... go figure.

The incidence of second, third or more re-infections is statistically negligible.

The UK's soaring infection rates are mostly in unvaccinated children and students with most of them being asymptomatic. There's also the unsurprising, ongoing infections among those silly old buggers who have been reluctant to get jabbed in the first place.

Nothing to see here, move along now.

Plus, the number of tests done in the UK dwarfs most other nations. No major problem in the UK. Hopefully, the people making the choices as to the "46" nations will realise this going forward.

I read a lot of articles about Thailand opening up November first. Many questions were asked about the bars. There were no answers. I think the do gooders would prefer that the bars never reopen.

So those of us in Udon who like to meet up for a beer and a chat in a bar are " riff raff"?

Its the so called " rif raf" that generally are the biggest spenders AND tippers that sustain the low income workers.. Rich people tend, IMO to be tight with money , hence they are rich.

The government changes their policies nearly every day. I have read many articles about the November 1st reopening. There were many questions about the bars with no answers. It appears to me that the do gooders hope that the bars never reopen.

Here's the latest infographic on what happens on November 1st and what one needs to return to Thailand. It's a lot clearer than some of the earlier ones.
