Re: covid cases udon
Just a little update from the Uk.having had my first jab (Pfizer)and due my second one in the next week or so.ive just been reading that now Pfizer are saying we will need a 3rd vaccine within 6 months of our second jab.also it’s now being reported some people having the first jab are being infected but it was expected as one jab only gives about 60% immunity.the way things are going we will be having a jab a week to cover any variants.when you look at the big picture it looks like this Chinese virus with all its variants that are mutating at a faster rate we can expect this monster to be around for many years.it took 30 years to eradicate small pox and that was before millions of people were jumping on planes.so there’s a long stretch ahead for all of us.i did go to the pub the other day but I’ve now knocked that on the head until I’ve had my 2nd jab and stayed home for 2 weeks after.stay safe people.
Re: covid cases udon
Came out of my front gate for the first time in about 10 days. Had to go to Udon City for food replen and some meds. I know the kids are on holiday and most Government (local and National) are busy working from home??? My impression was the city was a good bit quieter than normal and even found a parking space in Makro within 30 seconds.
Just out of interest does anyone know of any of us filthy farang expats who have actually caught the virus here in Thailand?

Latest I've seen is possible 3rd, booster, shot 6 to 12 months after 2nd. As for getting infected after 1st, I have also seen that most were already infected prior to 1st shot. There is talk from one manufacturer that the Covid booster might eventually be included with seasonal Flu shot.Marcosteffano wrote: ↑April 19, 2021, 9:39 pmJust a little update from the Uk.having had my first jab (Pfizer)and due my second one in the next week or so.ive just been reading that now Pfizer are saying we will need a 3rd vaccine within 6 months of our second jab.also it’s now being reported some people having the first jab are being infected but it was expected as one jab only gives about 60% immunity.the way things are going we will be having a jab a week to cover any variants.when you look at the big picture it looks like this Chinese virus with all its variants that are mutating at a faster rate we can expect this monster to be around for many years.it took 30 years to eradicate small pox and that was before millions of people were jumping on planes.so there’s a long stretch ahead for all of us.i did go to the pub the other day but I’ve now knocked that on the head until I’ve had my 2nd jab and stayed home for 2 weeks after.stay safe people.
Re: covid cases udon
Not personally Alex but very early in the recent breakout, it was reported that an American and his wife, "resident in Udon", had both tested positive. Didn't say where but no reports of ensuing death either. My mate worked in Bangkok most of last year and lives on the Pattaya dark side doesn't know of anyone who caught it either. Between us, we have a large circle of friends from our hedonistic life back in the 1980's. Although we don't actively keep in touch with each and every one, with social media and overlapping circles of friends that do, we reckon if any had succumbed to C-19, we would have heard about it.AlexO wrote: ↑April 20, 2021, 6:21 pmCame out of my front gate for the first time in about 10 days. By the same token, my large tribe that has extended family in Udon, Ubon and Turkey are similarly unaware if any C-19 related illness or deaths. If any, it's someone they never knew in the next village or the next street over so all anecdotal so far.
Re: covid cases udon
There was a farang in recent days. Had visited bars, Pannarai, the base and a farang restaraunt. I don't personally know who he is though.

Update from the sticks.AlexO wrote: ↑April 12, 2021, 8:30 pmWife has just told me a family who live close to her mothers place here in Nong Lat have been taken away in a Hazmat ambulance about an hour ago. Cannot confirm but all the parties/music have stopped in the last 30 minutes. Village is full of people returning from down south so this might just be the start of it. Bugger.
The family who were taken away on the evening of the 12th came back to the village yesterday. All tests have proved negative but they have to self isolate until another test in about 7 days is done and comes back normal. The medical Swat Team (like that term Tam) who came and tested all who had been in contact with them have also come up with all tests negative. They are coming back next week to retest same people again. So a bit of good news at last. Apart from yesterday through shear necessity I will be staying put for another week or so just in case.

It has been documented and that is his time line. Not knowing him personally doesn't make it rumors.

Didn't want to start a keyboard war, it was just out of interest. Tammakhun posting a document written in Thai?? Might have just as well been Swahili for all the use that that is to 99.9% of the members on this Website. Thanks.

That's a long list of hot spots! For those who venture out, for whatever, it should be mandatory reading......just to be aware of the breadth of spread in the community. If you can't photo translate it, have someone in your family do it. For me, I'd be doing extra doses of sanitizer and consider wearing a second mask when you're amongst groups in stores.tammakhun wrote: ↑April 21, 2021, 3:20 pm#13 is a Soi Sampan bar and #14 a Nutty Park bar. 1st case in Ban Dung, a construction worker on the road works near Lao Udom, just 2 km up the road from me. He is not from Ban Dung but the whole crew have been taken in for testing.
