Re: covid cases udon
Malls open = 11:00 - 20:00
7 elevens close = 20:00 - 05:00
That sound about right? If so, it's basically the same overnight closures as last year without the curfew.
Curfew to follow in about 5 to 7 days?
Booze ban to follow in 7 to 10 days?

How long have you lived here. How many times have you been able to use Logic and Thai in the same sentence.

Yes tell me about it ,bangkok post say convenience store now close 10 pm till 5 am ,food courts 9 pm ,restaurants 6 pm. Its mad that just a few thousand cases are already overwhelming the health service. They've had 15 months to prepare for this. Seemed they were more focused on getting tourists rather than making sure the got the vaccine and stocked up on ventilator's. . we are having Sunday lunch today ,we don't expect many but the sensible thing would be to stop meals for the coming two weeks until we find out how bad its going to be. So after today we will switch to just takeaway sandwich menu. I think the lockdown is coming very soon.AlexO wrote: ↑April 24, 2021, 11:10 pmDeanpapafarang wrote: ↑April 24, 2021, 7:30 pmSee they just can't get the right info out. Yes Dean, possibly a good move, one or two others are thinking the same thing. So many places clsoed until common-sense prevails, sadly though that could be a long time as we both know Logic is not a skill set the Thai Government uses if at all.

Re: covid cases udon
Why malls need to open at all .. ?? close them ... surely same number of people will still visit in the reduced opening hours as do in the normal hours .. just condensing the footfall.. thus not assisting with covid issues
7/11 that fine ..open day time only for the basics expect supermarkets to follow suit.
Curfew .. agree Tam coming soon
Lockdown coming soon if thats the only way to halt the surge Ok
Booze Ban coming soon .. always seems the booze gets chopped forst , which all entertainment venues being blamed for the 3 rd wave its nailed on ataol booze ban will come in as before .. yes entertainment venues IN BKK were to blame .. alas the decision to allow SK travel in an atempt to boost the economy was a MASSIVE mistake with covid hitching a ride on those traveling and now not only all provinces effected but the economy is fooked.

Looking at the ease of parking and lack of crowds in Central since this all went pear-shaped, there's no chance of a higher footfall due to shorter hours increasing the rate of contagion. A lot of people are already staying home. I guess it will be up to individual shops to decide if the reduced hours and lack of custom is worth the rent, staff and utilities.
Big C Nittayo is similarly a breeze for parking and shopping.
Villa, easy in-out.
Lotus's is still a bloody joke though with indolent staff now parking even more trolleys full of empty cardboard boxes in aisles for even longer.
Here's another clue... less instances of double parking and general ease of kerb side parking in and around Phosi, Adulyadet and other main thoroughfares. Being able to park outside or near your favorite noodle shop, liquor store or sex emporium is an added bonus.

Tam,
You mention parking repeatedly. Wasn't it you that said Thai's do not park, they just stop driving? I don't think we should use that term, 'Walking distance to the curb', is a bit of a mouthful, how about simply say STOP. Plenty of places to stop, its easy these days to stop at Central etc.

Well this is interesting (to me, maybe not others), we’re in our local indoor, AC restaurant & there are two tables each with two Thai customers eating. They are all wearing masks, pulling down over there chins to take a mouthful or sip of drink then pulling back up over the mouth/ nose & carrying on talking normally with their meals.
Never seen this in a restaurant before

It tends to get a little messy if you try eating or drinking with your mask still over your nose and mouth .Niggly wrote: ↑April 25, 2021, 12:33 pmWell this is interesting (to me, maybe not others), we’re in our local indoor, AC restaurant & there are two tables each with two Thai customers eating. However i can still smoke with a mask on , not nice but doable .
Im amazed that you found 4 Thais dinning out that actually conversed with one another , usually they dont say a word and are buried in their phones .

I just took out a Covid insurance policy. Up to 100,000 per day for hospital cover, 1,000,000 death cover with Dhipaya Tipinsure. Here's hoping I never find out how genuine they are $1250 bhat for a year.

In a KFC in downtown Riyadh back in 1993 I observed a woman lifting her veil every time she took a bite of chicken while sitting with her family.Niggly wrote: ↑April 25, 2021, 12:33 pmWell this is interesting (to me, maybe not others), we’re in our local indoor, AC restaurant & there are two tables each with two Thai customers eating. Re: covid cases udon
I hear what you say Sam but its a sensible question. Why should I or my wife (the lady I sleep beside each night, without wearing a mask) have to wear a mask when we get into our private vehicle and travel somewhere. We faithfully don masks before leaving the car and mingling with the public. It just seems so bloody pointless to enforce wearing a mask in a private vehicle.samuel wrote: ↑April 24, 2021, 12:20 pmDrunk Monkey wrote: ↑April 24, 2021, 11:29 am2k 4k or 20k .. its so easy to wear a mask only an idiot would get caught outdoors without one.

and to those who are still doubting about masks - here i stand and say:
even without fines - it's simply lifesaving!
.
imagine you not wearing a mask, catching the virus anywhere at anytime and from anybody, bringing it home not knowing you're infected, infecting your wf/gf, your children, they get very sick, they die …. want me to write on?
.
RESPONSABILITY is urgently needed now.
.
if you love your family and friends then wear that ****** mask all the time.
i'm fed up with all these discussions about inside car wear or not to wear etc. etc. etc.
use your brain - be a role model!
got it?
