Please, can we get back on topic? How about you guys who follow facebook keep us posted with updates on Udon's situation, haven't had one since the 24th. Thank you.

Had another one (now 3) in Ban Dung yesterday, woman in a village on the Phen Road, she was from Bangkok.
I was updating every day until all the off topic posts appeared.
It was annoying to have to go back and find the previous figures to check so I gave up.
Update for yesterday.

8 new cases, Total cases 315.
1 death with 34 recovered.
Total still active cases 272,

See below for update on Udon home facebook.

Udon central is the overwhelming hot zone for the province......I see Ban Dung just racked up its second official case.

Meuang Udon Thani has 25% of the province's population but 57% of the provincial infection totals. Since it's the hub of everything provincial, maybe not too remarkable except for those that live there I guess.

Would be interesting to find out, which column they use... province_of_isolation, province_of_onset, district_of_onset. last year they used province of isolation. Like one case from Sakhon Nakhon was isolated in Udon Thani and reported to Udon Thani. No cases in Sakhon Nakhon and still some places closed, because of Covid.

I believe that reported cases are results of the tests, not actual place of living or residence. We have to remember that we have many hospitals inside ring road and that must effect to results. Of course positive results are going down now, when private hospital do only expensive test and "just to know people" do not go there. Not so many want to pay 4000 - 5000 thb without any reason.

Looking at the daily updates I believe Sakhon Nakhon has some covid cases but not sure on the exact number .. other than + 7 today.

^ My understanding is that some private hospitals in Udon have suspended PCR testing and all those seeking one must get it done at a Government Hospital. The policy that anyone who tests positive is hospitalized, even if they are asymptomatic, may deter people getting tested more than just the cost?

Bangkok Hospital Udon doesn't do tests any more but not sure if AEK has stopped as well. They still advertise AHQ packages that include tests. I have emailed them and asked if standalone testing is still available.

I guess it's a play on words. Get a Covid positive test then it becomes "pre existing", you have it for x number of days - 5555

I'll let you know if and when I try to make a claim. Not costing much to find out.
Very good information on Covid insurance on ThaiVisa listing three insurance companies. Thread started by moderator Sheryl who's a nurse and runs their Health & Medicine forum.

The latest posts confirm that Krungthai Panich (roojai) and KWG will cover field hospital and 'hospitel' for those testing positive but are asymptomatic. The third company, Dhipaya have so far dodged answering several requests to clarify what they cover.

A 4th case reported in Ban Dung this morning, a woman from near Gary and Kham's old Lucky Bar. 22 locals rounded up for testing.

It is encouraging to see the numbers getting lower in Udon. Unfortunately it is still nearby though. There was 32 reported in Khon Kaen in same update that has 5 in Udon. Still nice to see the numbers here getting lower.

Yes the fallout and cases from the family members travelling have finally tapered off , maybe we can get back to some sort of normality regarding Covid cases .

Certainly is. Our OrBorTor came up with some cash so Mrs Dero bought several dozen boxes of 3 layer masks (ok, not perfect) and rallied her health volunteers to distribute them around the Moobaan yesterday. IMHO everything helps.
