Wondering where you can travel?

Here's a link to the IATA Travel Regulations Map. Click on a country, and it will show you the rules for admission to that country.

Good to know that when wife returns from Thailand the end of October, if nothing changes, she will be ok to enter the U.S. She will of course self quarantine for 14 days when back as required by her work place here.

You do realise how long the process is to be allowed to fly into Thailand, that self quarantine in Thailand is unlikely to be possible any time soon, and that the restrictions on entry are not going to be lifted by then, so her only choice is a repatriation flight arranged by the Thai Embassy
The ban on international commercial flights will remain in force while the Covid-19 pandemic situation remains critical in many countries, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) said on Wednesday August 12

It is an indefinite ban, said CAAT director Chula Sukmanop and the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) would monitor the global situation before deciding when the flights could resume.

Well in speaking to my family across the Globe, Most of the family have decided that any International travel is off the cards until the earliest 2022 or possibly later, depends on how long Govts wish to play games . Every-one we know do not wish to spend time in quarantine anywhere at all.

Depends completely on the status of a vaccine, IMO.

IMNSHO while it is possible that there will be vaccines by then and if there is Japan will require that any gaijin must be vaccinated to enter Japan, quite possibly tested also, it is not at all clear that the vaccines will be produced in enough quality.

There is also the point that even if vaccinated the airlines may well not be back in business enough for the people who want to visit.

Can I ask how often before the lock down did you travel around the world or is this just your honest opinion based on nothing

Between Japan and Thailand, and a few other places, enough times to need to renew my large size passport two or three times until I was able to get this.

And of course it’s my opinion, though based on living in Japan for many more years than I originally intended, during that time I had close contact with many Japanese who were in general not very prejudiced, though the were in the minority, so I can make a well informed guess that the xenophobic self-interested isolationist opinions will carry the day.

Thailand's "Think tank" of government, will probably now introduce, 4 day long week end holidays every fortnight, (maybe every week) so that they can attract all of those local tourists to their resort areas such as Phuket, to achieve a 30% occupancy rate for the four days and so save the tourist industry from collapse, wont it? We forget in our rush to get the VACCINE, that it will NOT eradicate this Virus, just make it less likely you will be hospitalised and suffer death or a long-term illness.

Vaccines do not stop you catching anything, be that Measles or Chickenpox or many of the other things you get
vaccinated for including FLU, but it should decrease the severity of the infection and make it possible to carry on, how Governments will decide then how to reopen with the current testing regime, even if you have received the vaccine you may still test positive.

Which then raises the question are all Governments intending to Vaccinate their entire populations or just target the vulnerable and therefore Quarantine will be with us for decades OR do they eventually risk opening up knowing that their vulnerable are protected in part and Herd Immunity will do the rest.

WE are no doubt going to have to live with this Virus at least for the rest of my life and how Governments deal will be interesting to see. When the knee-jerking and xenophobic and racist language has died down and reasonably intelligent people start acting , then we may see a renewal of life as we knew it , with obvious caveats regarding travel etc. But lets no be under any illusion, life as we knew it gaily flying here and there with almost zero checks on passenger health etc, will never return, that Golden Age of Globe trotting will go the same way as the Dodo, replaced one hopes with sensible guidelines and actions which at the moment are very dis-jointed and causes angst amongst many . Through illogical Government edicts ref quarantine etc.

To the extent that a virus can enter your system but will be stopped from replicating because your immune system will kill it off you can claim that you become infected.

However the vast majority of doctors would disagree with you. They would say that if you don’t have a significant virus load you are not infected.

Of course No vaccine is 100% effective, but that means that not 100% of recipients are immune

Sorry Uncle - but the only part of your statement I agree with is that it has probably been copied.

The article itself is ignorant and uninformed (unsurprisingly), at least to the extent pointed out above by Woody.

No but there cases in Europe as many migrants have never been inoculated as is the norm for most Westerners. Many known diseases are because of vaccination, however many of the poorer countries do not have mass vaccination as is the norm min Western countries, for example Polio is still not eradicated as many Extremist factions ( mainly Muslim ) reject the vaccination as it is viewed as Western Interference, therefore illnesses and diseases previously though of as eradicated are now resurfacing in packets of Immigrants and some because vaccination is no longer mandatory still refuse to have them.
Thoughts on this are that ANY Immigrant, if unable top prove vaccination for the main illnesses we get vaccinated for should automatically be vaccination, refusal will ensure swift repatriation back to their own countries as they can pose a health risk to the host Nation. As many of our snowflake generation can NOW refuse to be vaccinated as well.

Please Provide Evidence from an accredited medical publication. If your claim has any foundation in truth it will absolutely be reported in such a journal. If you are unable to do so then your claim is proven to be totally bogus.

There are no cases in Europe.
There are no cases in Africa.
There are no cases in America, north or south.
There are no cases in Asia .
There are no cases in the Indian subcontinent
There are no cases in Antarctica
There are no cases in Australia
There are no cases on any island
The only places that the virus can exist is in secure BSL-4 labs Security storage.

They do have mass vaccination for certain diseases. How do you think Ebola outbreaks are controlled? Stop bringing your preconceptions and use fact
