Tucker Carlson: Are coronavirus lockdowns working?
What nonsense. I won't dissect the entire video, as it's not worth the time it would take, but to hit just a couple of points he made:

Eight states without lockdowns are under the average infection rate: The definition of "average" means that some states will be under the average infection rate and others will be above it. That's what an average is.

These specific states: These states have no major international gateway airports, the way that, say, New York, Illinois and California do. Obviously, then, there's a lower chance of importing the infection.

People who complain will be censored by the tech companies: I've seen plenty of opinions online that disagree with the current approach to the virus. Additionally, of course, the tech companies aren't the government. But separately, even if true, isn't it sort of like President Trump beating down reporters who ask questions he doesn't like?

"Dissent has been banned." Huh? No it hasn't. If it had, then Mr. Carlson wouldn't have been able to air his comments.

"... the guess that a nationwide lockdown would save us from the corona virus." No, that's not what was said at all. The nationwide lockdown is expected to reduce the infection rate, not eliminate it.

And how does he explain the absurdly high rates of infection in places like nursing homes? Yes, of course age accounts for some of the increased rate of infection. But is he really suggesting that social distancing has zero beneficial effect in reducing the infection rate?

I could go on, but you get the point. What nonsense, Tucker.

Yes continue with your silly game
If you really have your claimed intellect
try some objectivity
sad sad sad
I have never claimed any superior intellect. Ever. It's a label that several on this forum have mistakenly bestowed on me when they run out of of excuses, can't back up any their claims or chose to dwell in an affirmation echo-chamber. An open mind is wonderful but letting it be easily hijacked by unsubstantiated conspiracy drivel and outright fakery is always a risk. I don't agree with 'A' so 'B' must be correct.

For example; a few posts ago, I posted my fake resume and both mickojack and yourself chose to cherry pick some of it to justify your opinion. Maybe I really need to use emoticons lest the sheep among us be goaded into even more stupid responses.

Neither myself or my opinions are infallible and I have never claimed them to be. Ever. I make mistakes too. In fact I did a few posts earlier when I incorrectly translated Bogino. It actually means Pruritis ani and not ------.

See if you can guess who I am now?

"I think Cuomo's a twunt. Then I watch Bongino and I KNOW he's a twunt.

I think DJT's great. Then I watch Hannity and I KNOW he's great."

No prizes for getting mickojack and his newest best buddy in all the world cjd01.

My view [redacted]: both are relentlessly playing a political game in election year at a time when, apart from the NFL draft going ahead (no in-person attendance), there are no sports to keep anyone otherwise distracted.

Oh yes, there's something called Covid-19 as well.
Thank goodness for perception your correct
I like Bongino, to me calls a spade a spade
Hannity, so so
Cuomo = politician
Trump I like his sentiment (if true) America First but he's a politician
to me no matter what, their all politicians and not to be trusted.
My main concern is that I don't think you can believe the media in general, they have an agenda and we the sheep are led where they want to take us. don't want to rant but "weapons of mass destruction", Gulf of Tonkin etc
I really have no objections to what you believe but won't accept your opinion thrust down my throat sorry [redacted]
anyway let's continue to panic, panic
I don't want to go outside in case a car hits me or lightning or or or

And he's got balls, and drive, and ambition for his country.
The only sort of leader in my book.

Can't see anyone else

And life has been extremely entertaining since he won, and Crying Clinton slipped off into nowhere where she deserves to be after her attitude display when she lost

I love it.

I rewatched the Tucker video
He does dribble
but has a point about the lockdown
like here I believe they have taken the lockdown too far
keep with the masks and social distancing
Quarantine the recent arrivals
but go back to work

I agree with you as well.

They originally told us the lockdown was to give hospitals time to prepare.
Well, the're all ready now, so lets get back to life, (with the simple precautions that you describe)
No problem

and add Schools to that.

Was at Complex "Centra" sp? Friday and they seem to be saying that it would be Fully Open on May 1. Would expect everything also in Udon. Going to be one busy day traffic wise for next Friday.

The one point for me was, they don't normally lock up the healthy usually quarantine the sick
anyway let's keep looking.

Have had direct contact with one of my daughters educator and advised 1st July opening.
Daughter was on FB with friends and 1st Aug was shown.
Until further notice it’s 1 July startup and 1st Aug is fake news.
I will be advised if the date changes.

The kids will go stir crazy for the next 2 months as in Thailand no online schooling. Well there is online lessons from one of her weekend schools.
As opposed to my 2 kids in Australia who have full access to online schooling, and in fact have to log on each day for roll call. Lessons for most subjects then quiz tests to keep them going. Received the first term report card online yesterday.

Unfortunately all Thais do not have access to the internet and computers at home.
Imagine if they open the central mall early where all the students will go. They will be itching to leave the house. Maybe they can do the daily grog run for the desperate’s.
