He's a former head of neuro-radiology at Stanford University and shares many of Trump's views on the virus. Atlas has spoken out against using lock downs to contain it. Trump might have found his man. No reports yet of Atlas previously going on about demon semen.

When thousands of British tourists decided to head to France for a relaxing post lockdown holiday, they were not expecting to all have to leave at once.

Such was the scramble to get back across the Channel that private jet companies reported a trebling in requests - including, one firm claimed, from teachers worried about being stuck in quarantine for the start of the new term.

Brides-to-be, families and students made up some of the 160,000 tourists that were forced to attempt to make a hasty dash over the border.

And even for those not hiring their own jets, it proved expensive after the demand for flights, trains and Eurotunnel tickets soared as Britons went to desperate lengths to get home before the new measures came into place...

Tell me about it Tam ,why anyone would go to any foreign country knowing that they could end up stuck there or at best back in quarantine. People with brains like that should not even be trusted to self quarantine. Anyone leaving Thailand already knows its hard to return and carries quite an expensive price tag. I don't know about herd immunity , but seems to be plenty of herd mentality to go around in the west. Bovine is an apt description

What about the people who haven't larded it at home at the Governments expense? Health Workers, Employers, Business Owners etc. Are they all "bovine"?

Dont they deserve a break if they weigh up the risks and choose to go away?

I and others are and will be happy to take a break if it seems prudent. There are ways of minimising risk and can quarantine if needed on return.

As usual, it's the whingers who p*** me off. Don't go if you havent considered the possibility of quarantine on your return.

Unless the DHHS is excluding the numbers of people dying the the numbers of people who have COVID who survive is much better, this is a change that is to be expected as treatments that improve survival are found. It says nothing about the long term effects that are being discovered in survivors even if they had no symptoms, the percentage of people with these effects is unknown, some/many/most/all?

Those with not much of a brain are very vulnerable to Covid 19:

A Florida taxi driver, who believed false claims that coronavirus was a hoax, has lost his wife [a pastor] to Covid-19. Brian Lee Hitchens and his wife, Erin, had read claims online that the virus was fabricated, linked to 5G or similar to the flu.

The couple didn't follow health guidance or seek help when they fell ill in early May. Brian recovered but his 46-year-old wife became critically ill and died this month from heart problems linked to the virus.

Good day. Not quite right. A lot of smart, bright , people - engineers, doctors, farmers, techers etc etc, - end up following their faith. Faith in church, in politics, in social gurus, internet influensers, etc etc leading to dramatic and dangerous, sometimes deadly decisions. Let me give you an example, after Brainless had pushed for the states to reopen, Georgia state reopended, then 2 or 3 evenings later , on fox Tucker said something like this. << The covid 19 cases in Georgia has come down in the last few days, so the President was right to call for states to reopen >>. Of course most people would agree that COVID19 incubation period is 7 to 14 or 21 days. So Tucker was volontarily misleading (should be a criminal offense ) his viewers, his believers. I would assume that quite a few took Tucker,s advice and went Business as usual.
We know now that Georgia was turned out to be one of the worst Hot Spots. How many millions refuse to face reality prefering the comfort of their faith ?. Maybe you remember the << as shown on tv >. ad, today it s as seen on youtube, etc etc, We all have a brain, let s use it to differentiate between falsehood and truth.

During a news conference Friday he [President Trump] offered an assurance that should by now seem familiar to any sentient American: All of this will soon be behind us.

“By the way,” Trump said, after disparaging former vice president Joe Biden’s rhetoric on the issue, “we’re rounding the corner. We’re rounding the corner on the virus.”

A reporter pressed him on the point.

“I wanted to ask you about a forecast that has come out from the IHME [Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation] at the University of Washington,” he said. “They are forecasting by, January the first of next year, that we’ll have 410,000 American deaths from coronavirus, which is 225,000 from where we are right now. So can you explain how you see us rounding the corner, based upon that projection?”
