All the ICU patients are 50 or younger

Usually the maximum is 13

They currently have 16
There is another facility set up for 8 more
There is an area in preparation for a further 22

These will be filled probably with 7 days.
They are going to run out of staff before they run out of ventilators 1 patient needs 5 staff.
That's a truly excellent video STWW but also very frightening.
Every young person should view the video as it will bring home to them that everyone, whatever age, is at risk from this virus and if you are unlucky enough to get a serious dose the consequences may well be terrible.

Britain and the US are not equivalent -- by any stretch. Your elementary, binary comparisons are not valid.

UK deaths 4,313, out of 66.4 million citizens is one death per 15,295 people.
US deaths 7,146, out of 327.2 million citizens is one death per 45,787 people.

The NHS is failing badly. Much worse than the US model. These numbers don't lie. Keep up the diversion if it provides comfort, but the truth is that the Wuhan Flu is killing Brits at a MUCH faster pace than it is Americans.

Perhaps you can ask the EU for assistance ... or maybe not.

Do try to keep up giggle ......... the UK is still in the EU until the transition period ends (although they do not get a vote), and as such has already been offered assistance if they need it

Sorry Stats we are not still in the EU, we have left

“Following a general election, Parliament ratified the withdrawal agreement, and the UK left the EU at 11 p.m. GMT on 31 January 2020. ... The UK remains subject to EU law and remains part of the EU customs union and single market during the transition, but is no longer part of the EU's political bodies or institutions.”

But why would we ask the EU for help, we are way ahead of the game and they can’t even support Italy, Spain and Greece so why would they support a non EU country even if they were able?

Giggle is an odd fish cheering those numbers. There are plenty of signs the US is in deep peril and it also has a highly dysfunctional federal government.

I told you already, GT, I'm not cheering anything. I'm providing some badly needed perspective. The UK is in serious trouble and all its citizens want to do here is slag Trump. If they don't realize what is going on, they're in for a rude awakening. Far more rude than I might ever pretend to be. Maybe they know it and choose not to discuss it because insulting Trump and Americans is funner, makes them feel important, and is encouraged by the moderators. Whatever. But the day of reckoning is coming and they should acknowledge if not discuss it.

The death totals currently are at U.K. 64 per million whole USA at 26 per million so from that point of view you are correct.
But New York State is at 174 deaths per milliovn ( one death per 5,610people.) and has asked for help, was promised federal help and the supplies it desperately needed were not delivered to the NY hospitals or state government but to private commercial companies to resell on the open market. The federal government could help but will not. yae Orange capitalism =D>

Deaths lag infections

The only drop in the increasing numbers was March 21st

There have been several drops in the increases

What ever the numbers and the, U.S.A. Is catching up quickly, they are terrible
The president has said that if he keeps the numbers to Between one death per 3,300 people and one death per 1,325 people he will have done a great job (100,000 to 250,000)

NOW we have the latest Medically unqualified Doctor in America saying this

Donald Trump has directly urged Americans worried about Covid-19 to take a little-studied anti-malaria drug for the disease, despite potentially serious side effects and a lack of data on safety and efficacy in treatment of the pandemic virus.

God help AMERICA because sure as hell Trump is NOT helping

The Brits know what is going on. Moreover the British media is doing an excellent job of covering the Coronavirus epidemic around the world.

You are correct the USA is about 5 times the population of the U.K. and yes trump has ensured that the USA has in percentage terms more infections, more new infections and an order of magnitude more serious/critical patients

Total cases U.S.A. no 1 U.K. no. 8 (USA 7.8 times bigger )

Nobody cares about the number of cases -- some cases have no symptoms -- zero. zilch. nada.
It's merely a matter of some countries testing a lot more than others.

How many dead bodies ya got per capita? That's the salient point -- that's the barometer of how well your healthcare system is holding up.

Whatcha got Schmedly? A whole lot of corpses.

" The UK remains subject to EU law and remains part of the EU customs union and single market during the transition, but is no longer part of the EU's political bodies or institutions.”

So we are still in the EU (in all but name) except we cant vote until the end of the transition period

Bojo was offered a part for UK when the contracts to mass buy PPE etc was being negotiated whereby we would have had access to a massive stockpile at a cheaper price than we could ever negotiate (order for ma/pa shop vs order from Tesco) but he turned the offer down (surely he did not think that worldwide suppliers were going to prioritise a UK order over a massive EU order) Now several weeks later doctors/nurses/other staff are dying because we still have not got enough PPE supplies and he and his govt are still lying day after day that they have done all that they could
