Night curfew to be lifted from June 15 but international travel to be controlled
National
Jun 12. 2020
Facebook TwitterBy THE NATION
The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) approved ending the night curfew from June 15.

The centre made the decision at its meeting on Friday (June 12). The meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.The 11pm-to-3am curfew will be lifted from next Monday (June 15) but the state of emergency in the country will continue. The centre decided to strictly control travel in and out of Thailand, as most of the Covid-19 patients in recent days were returnees from foreign countries. The CCSA also said that some high-risk activities, such as the use of school buildings or some sports, will be relaxed in the fourth phase of the lockdown relaxation. Sale of alcoholic beverages will be allowed, as well as the holding of concerts. However, bars and pubs will remain closed in this next phase. On Wednesday (June 10), the National Security Council had proposed the lifting of the nationwide night curfew for a 15-day trial period while maintaining the state of emergency.

That's good news.

And with this story thread "Foreigners To Be Allowed In, Udon Map," and, what I was told this morning from the Immigration officer, it's looking better all the time.

Doodoo,
I'm not convinced that the government has put the insurance requirements in stone yet, anyway.

I think we've just gotta wait until something is officially announced

No doubt, I may be corrected!

It is in stone already fro arriving expats with work permit aswe speak. If you look at other countries example Cambodia they want $3000 as you come in and a $50,000 policy before you step into the country

I think the $3000 is only if, someone on that Plane (or you) tests Positive, because if anyone on that Plane does test positive, then the whole lot from that Plane have to go in quarantine (in a Government designated facility or hotel) for 14 Days at a charge rate of $84 per day = $1,176 for your first 14 days of stay with them?? But on the good news is that you three scrumptious meals per day included, and come out 7 Kgs heavier.

But before all that, you start of from the Airport with a $5 Bus ride, $100 for a swab test and 12 hour stay at a hotel + 3 scrumptious meals plus $30 for your medical clearance certificate to show that you are negative, which equals a total $135. But then because of one F....witt on that flight testing positive, you now have to pay $3,000. So after all that and while while you are waiting out you 14 days in comfy your $3000 shrinks, because they deduct from it, $1,176 and then $135. So now you only have $ 1,689 credit, left in your piggy bank, to get back from them (if you survive)

But wait, $ 1,500 of your initial $3000 has to be held for your Cremation, if you die. Hence if you die, you get nothing back and they keep it all, because you can't sign for it [-X [-X - They win. [-( [-(

Anyway, blame the F...witt on the plane, that tested positive, if he lives. Why, because he ruined your holiday, costing you 14 days of it, plus $1,176. That is, if you have survived.

I think they will need to refine the rules over the next 3 months, or Cambodia won't see any Tourists for the remainder of the year. like some other country close by. \:D/ \:D/

I just wonder, if any of these guys making up these rules in some of these counties, ever got past Primary School or even Kindergarten for that matter. Maybe they did a quantum leap from Grade 6 to "Political Genius" =D> =D>

Yes, but there was another recent explanation in the Khmer Times and several Links (so I thought), which I posted about in 4 days back under the thread Post Covid Economy on 12 June 2020

I read it different at the time, but you may well be correct, and the Cambodian Imm may well sting you up front (when you land) for the full $3,000 even though no one on your flight test positive. Getting it back will be a task. mostly likely they say, after you pay that they will give you your funds back 14 days after you leave.

I took it from these Links and the Khmer times. In the first Link dated 11 June 2020, it said the following and made no mention of $3,000 extra up front
Extract: Upon arrival all passengers will be taken by bus ($5) to a waiting area where a swab for a RT-PCR test will be taken ($100). Travelers are required to stay at the waiting area overnight while the tests are performed ($30), plus pay an additional $30 for three meals. At $10 per meal they should be quite sumptuous.
If all of the test results are negative everyone is free to leave

Either way it won't help their Tourism restart. Most people go to Cambodia because it is cheap to holiday, not to through their money away or hand it over to the Cambodia government. [-(
