The chief of the Private Hospital Association of Thailand has said that the Moderna vaccine against Covid-19 will definitely be available in his members' hospitals.
He did not specify when but stated he expected the cost to be around 3,000 baht for the two inoculations.
People would still have to register for the Moderna vaccine. (Sanook)

I do know this, there are many in the US who are refusing to get the vaccination, so there are plenty of doses.
But not so many they might at least consider sending a few thousand extra over along with requirements for embassies and consulates (or JUSMAG groups) to cover TRICARE enrollees who actually pay a premium for health care -- rather than, say, illegal alien criminals who are in the US illegally and have no business being there -- who will get their vaccinations for free and immediately upon request.

Biden's vision for America. He abhors that country and its citizens. He's a disgrace.
You left the country on your own, deal with it. Besides, isn't Covid-19 a Democratic hoax? Why do you want the shot?

However the risk from getting vaccinated is tiny compared to the risks from getting infected. There are a lot more problems from catching COVID 19 than death.
The risk here in Udon is extremely low as well
Since only about 10% or fewer people infected get hospitalised & the testing is low your statement is rather hope than fact.

It could be true, it could be totally wrong, the data is not available to say which is correct.

Well I figure if no-one locally gets sick the chance of being infected is extremely low
I do know certain villages or areas around Udon have had infections but that is not near me
and when out I social distance use hand sanitizer and wear a mask
So I do believe that the odds of me contracting the bat virus are extremely low

^ hi, yes it is 100% needed for my county (Qatar) since about 3 weeks ago. Previously you were tested on arrival in Doha.

@ Tamada, thanks for response. Think I'll call into BKK hospital and ask.
Good deal. You go ask at BH and I'll drop by AEK tomorrow and see what they say.

Talking with a mate who's already come and gone twice (2 ASQ's), the last pre-flight testing was a 3 hour affair at BH as they had a 'bullpen' out front for locals seeking routine testing and the ease of getting one for the simple walk-in international flight departee was severely buggered about with.
So I can confirm that BKK hospital in Udon are still doing the Covid PCR test and they also confirmed it is suitable for the airlines.

Not actually had the test yet as needs to be max 72 hours before time of departure.

Booking process is a little complex in that it is all done via line app even though we physically went to the hospital. A nurse helped get us started then my wife took over.

Seems you book the slot then turn up in your vehicle and wait to be called. You then drive through the signed area at front of hospital get get the PCR test.

Results are within 24 hours (not 100% if can get same day?) As my wife is not sharing (not understanding) all the details and all the line info is in Thai.

Not sure of the cost yet. Again might be in the line info and will discuss more when we get home.
A friend had the test done at BKK hospital in bangkok 2 weeks ago before travel and said the results could be ready within 6 hours. They also said there was a discount for Qatar Airways travellers but I didn't get the costs from them.

This doesn't help the image of the Foreigner (Farang) in Thailand

You have to wonder about the mentality of some, especially at this time?

Excellent update, thanks. I admit to not having asked at AEK yet.

The earlier post by a member that BH had suspended testing was maybe due to their rearranging their testing regimen from wall-in to drive-thru? A few months back, a friend of mine did his test early morning (walk-in) and got the results late the same day. That's very handy when one is trying to match the limited domestic flight options ex- UTH with an international connection at BKK and save some of those precious 72-hours.

When was the last one at AEK? It will be interesting to see if they've had to 'partition' their walk-in's seeking pre-flight testing to accommodate what may be an increase in the amount of locals either wanting or being referred to them for testing.

I was just over 180cm from you today in a UM members establishment but you were certainly not social distancing from your table companions. I was wearing a mask but you were not. We have just had our first Covid case confirmation and while it is 50km from Udon Town its only a 40 minute drive to where you were socialising. Not critising just pointing out that you really dont know what others who may be around you or in close proximity have been doing.

Also they are not on the 'approved' list I could find with Google.

We are all booked into the BKK drive through. The rate is 5,000 baht per person. Un-fooking-believable. Whats worse we are a family of 4 so 20,000 baht.

If you go for the 8am - 10am slot results are same day by 9pm.

Pfizer Inc.’s chief executive said that low- and middle-income countries had opted not to order the company’s Covid-19 shot,
“We reached out to all nations asking them to place orders so we could allocate doses for them,” Chief Executive Officer Albert Bourla said in a letter addressed to Pfizer employees. “In reality, the high-income countries reserved most of the doses. I became personally concerned with that and I reached out to many heads of middle/low-income countries by letter, phone and even text to urge them to reserve doses because the supply was limited.”

According to Reuters the US is Paying Pfizer US 19.50 per Dose (presumably for the each Jab?) and New York Time is reporting US 19.50 per Dose. The New York Times is also reporting that in Europe and Britain the Pfizer will only cost US 14.70 per Dose

Extract from Reuters: Under the new agreement, Pfizer will deliver at least 70 million doses by June 30 and the rest no later than July 31, the company said on Wednesday, bringing the total number of doses to 200 million for a total price of about $4 billion. The purchase price amounts to $19.50 per shot and is slightly higher than the $18.90 per dose that Reuters has reported the European Union has agreed to pay. The shot has been authorized for use in EU and the United States.

Extract from NYT: The price list, briefly released by Belgium’s budget state secretary, Eva De Bleeker, showed that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which is set for approval on Monday in the bloc and is being administered in the United States and Britain, will cost 12 euros, or $14.70, per dose, bringing the cost per person to 24 euros, as each person is supposed to receive two doses.

The Moderna vaccine, which is the next in line for E.U. approval, on Jan. 6, and is expected to receive authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for emergency use on Friday, is costing the E.U. $18 per dose, the table showed. The company had said it was looking to charge $25 to $37 per dose. The U.S. government has been directly involved in funding the development of the Moderna vaccine, and has signed a contract to pay around $15 per dose.

So somewhere between US 14.70 to US 19.50 (per Jab) for Pfizer and who know how much for the Moderna outside of the US

Maybe one day, you will be able to buy it in Table or Nasial form and take it home and administer it yourself, as a yearly Booster :-k

This is taken from the TAT website about soft curfews in the North East.
Buriram appears to have a 24/7 curfew... what's that all about ?? Maybe a local Udonite will have more info on this. ;)

The article below talks about a big Buriram wedding in early April leading to an outbreak (duh). I'm not sure if there were other outbreaks there, but this was apparently the start of things going sour there.

We live in Nayung close to Wat Pa Phu Kon. This morning we received a surprise visite from the nurse of the local hospital offering the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine for the grand-parents and the Falang. 🙏🏼😷
However the wife promptly declined politely and said she will pay for her parents because she wants the vaccines from America. I’ll have the same. 😀
