Just messaging with a friend in Aussie and he said to have some fun and try something on google.

Place in google any 3 digit number, followed by “new cases” and see the results.
I’ve done it a few times and there is always headlines with that exact number of cases.
He reckons a conspiracy is around us?
Maybe so.

A week ago last Thursday, Singapore suspended their fledgling fast-track approach to long overdue ship's crew changes through quarantine, tightly-managed airport-vessel-airport transfers and testing. Apparently two inbound crew tested positive for Covid-19 on arrival after serving their 14-day, stay home, pre-travel quarantine and PCR testing in their home countries. The Singapore health authorities are reviewing the procedures in place with no timeline for any change or reinstatement. Crew that had commenced their home quarantines before 10 July will be allowed to complete their transfers. Those already quarantining from 11 July onwards won't be permitted to board flights to Singapore (no certificate issued by the Singapore health authorities to show check-in staff).

Yesterday, Malaysia tightened their rules by mandating all passengers arriving in the country, even those in transit, must quarantine for 14 days at a government designated facility. No exceptions.

My decision NOT to travel outside Thailand until at the earliest middle of next year was a wise decision . Probably middle of 2022/3

It's possible some ex-pat retirees might never leave Thailand. Particularly if Thailand remains a success story in managing Covid 19.

To be sure Tam. This virus is not going anywhere in the near future. Maybe time that someone with a bit of intestinal fortitude decided that the mortality rate (infinitesimal in world population terms) is less important than the devastation to the whole Worlds economy and the future of the Human Race and just let the virus run its course. Telling the Banks to 'BIRL' on a middle finger would be a good start to helping get the Worlds economies kickstarted.

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has issued the following guidelines on entering Thailand for non-Thai residents and travellers:

Before departure
Travellers are required to contact the Royal Thai Embassy or consulate to get an entry visa and a certificate of entry, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the urgency, need and reasons provided in the application form.

Applications must include travel details, health insurance with a coverage of at least US$100,000, booking at an alternative state quarantine site and any other documents that the CCSA may require.

The approval process will take approximately seven working days, and the applicant will be contacted when approved.

Day of travel

Travellers are required to carry a certificate of entry, health insurance, certificate of a Covid-19 test taken within a 72-hour period with a negative result and a fit-to-fly certificate.

Upon arrival

Travellers will undergo tests at the airport and then be transferred to an alternative state quarantine site that should have been booked in advance.

Required documents for Non-Thai Nationals

Spouses, parents or children of Thai nationals

1. Certificate or evidence of family ties with the Thai national

Non-Thais who have been permitted to reside in Thailand

1. Proof of residency in Thailand

Non-Thais who hold a work permit or have been granted permission to work in Thailand, along with their spouse and children.

1. Work permit or letter of employment

2. Evidence of family ties (in the case of spouse and children)

Non-Thais who are students at educational establishments in Thailand that have been approved by Thai authorities, including their parents or guardians.

1. Proof of student status or letter of acceptance from the educational institution

2. Proof of relationship with parents or guardians

Non-Thais in need of medical treatment in Thailand, except for treatment of Covid-19, including people accompanying them (not exceeding three persons). These tourists are only allowed to arrive by air.

1. Evidence showing financial ability to bear medical expenses or equivalent documents

2. Health insurance or other forms of insurance

3. Letter from referring hospital in the country of origin stating reasons for medical treatment in Thailand

4. Letter from the receiving hospital in Thailand accepting the applicant for treatment and confirmation of quarantine arrangements for the applicant and accompanying persons.

Yes Doodoo, it doesn't look good or easy, for anyone wanting to visit Thailand for a week or so in the near future, unless you have time to burn and can afford the time to stay in a 14 Day Quarantine or Home Stay, most likely at both travel ends of your one week holiday. So 5 weeks in total??

For me its not the money/cost of the Q stay, it's that One Month of extra travel time that I don't have the luxury of? :-k :-k I suspect it is the same for many who currently only visit Thailand, as opposed to those who reside their on a more permanent arrangement.

That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.

Stupidity and or indifference
ast sunday (19jul) i was sick . By monday i was really sick with vomiting ,high temperature , diaherrea ,severe muscle cramps , on tues phoned udon hospital to see if i could see a doctor without all the waiting as i was to sick to sit there for hours . Answer no , so first stupidity i was to sick to go to hospital.By friday i was a lot better but still sick and my wife forced me to go to hospital .I basically wanted a covid test in case i had it and did not want to pass it around.
Got sent to floor 5 , i was very sweaty and a nurse told me to take a blood pressure test in the machine used by all . I explained i may have covid , shrugged and went back to her phone so i did the test.stupidity and indiference . After 3 hours was told i was in wrong place and sent to a place outside the hospital about 100 metres away . 3 rooms for testing covid . Saw a Dr in a partioned room who told me i had food poisoning and not covid or dengue fever which i actually thought i had .I told him bs you cannot diagnose what is wrong with me just by talking need at least a blood test or urine test . He just smiled walked away . Got some free tablets off the nurse there but had to go and pay for the doctor only 175 baht.
On my way back passed to rooms i saw the young girl who looked very sick and she had the same tablets as me in a zippy bag . I looked through the window and saw dozens of these bags all with the same medicine . Electrolyte powder , ani flatulent tablets , nausea tablets and tablet for the stomach also saw a few more patients with these bags .
Saw the doctor and said to him you are not testing anyone , you are just sending them home with medicine and if they have covid the could die or pass it on . he glared at me and walked away. Indifference , he did not care.
Conclusion , they are not testing anyone at udon hospital who have covid symptoms as they probably do not want any new cases in udon but if this is the same all over thailand then the cases will be massively higher than reported

Booking the 73k option for my eventual return.

Some threads and posts on ThaiVisa from members that have managed to make it back to LOS on the repatriation flights, including non-married guys. Looks like Coach is reserved for the locals and 'dirty farangs' ride the front of the bus. Ground handling at BKK looks well managed and the ASQ isn't in any shape or form a hardship. The application and approval paper trail at the front end looks a wee bit daunting and would totally overwhelm the typical lazy-arsed, moaning farang who aren't shy in reinforcing their image of slothful indolence and sense of entitlement.

So you are not actually in Thailand and your view of resident expats its to be questioned at least. Just one question, why do you even bother? There must be loads of pressing issues where you stay never mind LOS.

Having been told you had Food poisoning , which from the symptoms you described I thought that, why bother to test you for anything else, just no food for 48 hours, plenty of fluids ( water ) , after that start on simple foods ( non spicy, right as rain in 4/5 days . They are testing at Udon, but they recognise Covid symptoms better than you I expect.

Well naturally that is a problem , not only for them, but for us all, hence the request not to let your guard down and maintain good hygiene and cleanliness including wearing of masks. You never know who is or not as the case may be. What is worse the person themselves may never know either.
