Well which country has vaccinated 100%
None would be that answer
and Thailand not being a wealth country has given 3rd shot ie booster
So you are saying that Thailand has gone out and caused mutations on purpose

Just following and disagreeing with Doodoo post
as his is claiming that boosters cause mutation

Conflating giving booster to a limited range of susceptible high risk individuals and front line public contact essential workers, with giving boosters to everyone over 50 is very very different.

The first group have a good medical reason. The second, while vaccine supply is constrained, is morally bankrupt politically advantageous policy.

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) will roll out Covid-19 vaccine booster jabs to three million people nationwide who have been fully inoculated with Sinovac.

i like ladies with beards !!!!

I thought it was already announced that everyone who has had 2 Sinovac shots would be getting an AZ booster starting with the frontline workers and the oldies sickies n fatties AGAIN.

This coming week should see the majority of the expats in Udon double vaxxed via the Pfizer route (if they wished to do so) and hopefully maybe just maybe we can look at starting business again .. wait n see as my current routine isnt going to change much with covid still so rife in the community i shall remain in semi hermit mode.

Totally agree. And when some of those more privileged nations are publicly pondering vaccination all the way down to 5 year-olds, it's gone beyond the pale. Unfortunately, we are learning to expect nothing less from America and I fully expect the UK to follow this lead.

"In news sure to be greeted by parents across the US, Pfizer and BioNTech said on Monday children aged five to 11 are on track to receive the two companies’ Covid-19 vaccination by Halloween. ..."

couple of COVID related topics:

- Went down to the Udon Thani Provincial Health Office today to put in for my "Vaccine Passsport". As noted previously Building #1 and there's a girl at the entrance who will direct you to the office about 15 meters into the building on the left. Have a copy of your passport face page, a copy of your vaccination certificate. They will have you fill out the appication for the Vaccine Passport (it is all in Thai but if you can't read Thai they'll fill it in for you) then a couple of stamps, a bill and up to the 2nd floor to the cashier's office to pay your 50 baht and get your receipt. Go back downstairs, hand them the receipt and they attach a paper telling you to come back in 7 days (for me they said 1 October). Pretty easy evolution but with all the typical bureaucrat stamping and paperwork. Took less than 15 minutes total.

- Stopped by Bangkok Hospital today to ask face-to-face on the Moderna vaccine which I no longer need (Pfizer 2 X doses) but have paid for and evidently can "give away" to someone else. The answer from the Customer Service lady in the back office was "oh, same as before, maybe October/November." They always seem a bit evasive. Seeing the latest info in the BKK Post makes be believe that the GPO will allocate no more than a couple of million doses of Moderna this eyar to the Private Hospitals who ordered with another 3 million coming in "early 2022." What's this mean to me? That come late October/November and the arrival of the Moderna a lot of hospitals are going to get shorted in their allocations versus what they've actually ordered and paid for. I expect that once that comes to pass either further protestaions of delay will occur or perhaps a full refund for those who can't get what they paid for..

Can anyone advise me, are there any restrictions in travelling from Nong Khai to Udon, for people NOT fully vaccinated ?

On the same note does anyone know if it's possible to travel to Trat without restrictions. I am trying to take the family on a short beach vacation without any hassles.

If you look at the color coded map it appears you would have to pass through Red Zones and therefore restrictions would apply But again they change each day

^ Belay that!!!! Doodoo posted outdated info and a more recent search says that Trat is Red, same as Udon. I reckon you are good to go but maybe avoid stopovers? Certainly no need to stop in (dark red) Nakhon Ratchasima.

29 Maximum and Strict Controlled Areas or dark-red zone provinces

Central Region: Bangkok and 28 other provinces: Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Lop Buri, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ratchaburi, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Saraburi, Sing Buri, and Suphan Buri; Eastern Region: Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Prachin Buri, and Rayong; Northern Region: Phetchabun and Tak; Northeastern Region: Nakhon Ratchasima, and Southern Region: Narathiwat, Pattani, Songkhla, and Yala.

37 Strict Controlled Areas or red zone provinces

Central Region: Chai Nat; Eastern Region: Chanthaburi, Sa Kaeo, and Trat; Northern Region: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Kamphaeng Phet, Lampang, Lamphun, Nakhon Sawan, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Uthai Thani, and Uttaradit; Northeastern Region: Amnat Charoen, Buri Ram, Chaiyaphum, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Loei, Maha Sarakham, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Nong Khai, Roi Et, Sakon Nakhon, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, and Yasothon, and Southern Region: Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Ranong, Satun, and Trang.

things to come perhaps
Norway has ditched all its Covid-19 measures, even social distancing, in a radical move that as yet has unclear consequences.

On Friday, the Nordic nation’s government announced that it was time to “live as normal” with Covid-19 after 561 days of enduring some kind of restriction, whether that be venue capacity limits or stay-at-home orders.
