Dont forget that it is still stated nationally only 315 cases not the 541 plus to be added for Samutsometimewoodworker wrote: ↑January 4, 2021, 7:46 amDon’t forget that worldometers.info/coronavirus/ is reset at 00:00 GMT and that there are reporting delays on the covid19.ddc.moph.go.th/en site. So either the higher number will be on the DDC site later today or the 315 number will be updated later.
Updated numbers are very common on the worldometers site as some countries specially the U.S.A. have incredibly poor abilities to supply accurate timely data and constantly revise the past information, this morning there are updated numbers for the last 3 days.
In fact if you go to the source article it said. The new cases found in the province will be included in the daily update of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration on Monday -- now sure to register the highest daily number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

I see you are still struggling with the concept of "yesterday","today" and "tomorrow" regardless of the date and time being clearly stated.noosard wrote: ↑January 4, 2021, 8:18 amDont forget that it is still stated nationally only 315 cases not the 541 plus to be added for Samutsometimewoodworker wrote: ↑January 4, 2021, 7:46 amDon’t forget that worldometers.info/coronavirus/ is reset at 00:00 GMT and that there are reporting delays on the covid19.ddc.moph.go.th/en site. The 315 still stands for the time period it refers to and won't be updated with figures for the FOLLOWING time period that the BP article refers to.
Claro?

You and me both. Thailand's huge dependence on foreign labor could not have continued with the borders completely closed for 9 months already. With the collapse in tourism, the service and manufacturing industries became the nation's primary source of income and foreign labor drives that. Whether there was an official, government sanctioned worker immigration channel or a burgeoning underground system of smuggling in plain sight, there was obviously no concern from those involved about Covid or the need to quarantine.Drunk Monkey wrote: ↑January 3, 2021, 9:08 pmNo real help for the current situation .. but will be interesting to see if the corrupt officials that allowed the illegal Myanmar migrants in toe the country either via land or sea borders under the radar and further more the people that employed them without the correct paper work will face any criminal charges ..??.. i doubt it.

In a nation with a proper government, the opposition would be calling for an enquiry as to how this happened. So far, I haven't read about anyone seriously challenging the "watchman" DPM's recent assertion that no military or government agencies were involved.

Yes that is true.
FFS Did you understand that the article specifically said that the 541 cases will be added to the figures for today?
The data is accurate over a period of time. Take a chill pill and look at 7 day averages. They will be closer or exactly the same. If they are not then you have cause for concern.

A little bit later than it could be, but no real surprise. There certainly could be other European countries added.

The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.
Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.
December 25 81 cases
December 30 250 case
January 4 745 cases
Anyone notice a trend?
I think a bit more emphasis is required, LOCKDOWN

I see the updated Bangkok post has added Sundays Samut figures have been added to Mondays Thai numbers
Have no problem with the past present and future
Was a strange lot of paper stories that did not gel at 7am in the past compared to the present story at noon
Does not seem they have posted the future numbers yet

Re: Corona Virus / COVID-19 Important Information
So another lemming country subscribes to the notion that the highly-infectious mutation that was first confirmed by the UK virologists means that it must come only from the UK. The Philippines banned Brits and maybe a dozen other countries last week. There must be a reason why the Germans, Dutch and others who quickly spoke up to claim they had detected it several weeks earlier chose to say bugger all about it at the time.sometimewoodworker wrote: ↑January 4, 2021, 10:35 amA little bit later than it could be, but no real surprise. "... Dr Opas urged the public not to panic as Thailand is familiar with he fast-spreading Covid-19 strain -- known as G-strain -- found in Myanmar migrant workers. "B117 is similar to the G-strain from Myanmar in terms of it being fast-spreading," Dr Opas said. ..."
This is the first public acknowledgement that the surge of new infections coming from Myanmar is a similar, highly-infectious variant. So yes, it makes sense to ban UK citizens after only four arrivals tested positive and ignore the 541 (mostly Burmese) that already have it in Samut Sakhon in the past 24 hours.
I can imagine a few Brits that have jumped through all the hoops and are already in the air will be getting familiar with the transit lounge in Doha over the next few days. I hope they had (travel) insurance.

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.
It’s well and truly got its foot in the door.the reports you hear of is only the tip of the iceberg.expect the chaos of the hospitals being overwhelmed very soon and the death toll to skyrocket.the government has had 10 months to prepare for this but probably haven’t done a thing.like I’ve said many times the outlook for Thailand for 2021 will be the same as the rest of the world was in 2020 the Thais have only managed to delay the virus and now its bombing the country.all I can say is if you over 60 yrs or have underlying medical problems, stock up and stay at home a and don’t expect the vaccine for at least 6-9 months but by then the country will be on its knees.sorry to be posting what sounds negative but it’s just reality of what I’ve seen here in the Uk and the rest of the world.remember wash hands, face mask and social distancing is about the only tool thailand has to keep the numbers down.hands, face, space as our government has told us.good luck.

So you understand why the additional numbers that the Bangkok Post's unofficially reported early on Sunday evening didn't make the noon-time Sunday cut for the official CCSA report?noosard wrote: ↑January 4, 2021, 12:47 pmI see the updated Bangkok post has added Sundays Samut figures have been added to Mondays Thai numbers

According to thr Bangkok Post a family of 4 fro the uk mum, dad, 2 kids have been detained in Bkk after flying in and failing a test. Now blame blame again uk traveller's Are banned from Entry. Your not allowed to fly from any Airport unles you have had a covid test and a travel to fly cert. Another pack of lies and blaming outsiders.

A new Scam soon to hit Nationwide Holiday makers in Kho Lahn have been told to pack up and leave due to the Island going into lockdown locals can stay but tourists told to leave. Whats the bet they don't get any Refunds.
Re: Corona Virus / COVID-19 Important Information
^ The current surge was presaged by infected migrant workers from Myanmar. Subsequently, the daily numbers of local transmission cases has defined how many of that total number were migrant workers from Myanmar.

There could be other explanations, though they are unlikely.vlad wrote: ↑January 4, 2021, 2:31 pmAccording to thr Bangkok Post a family of 4 fro the uk mum, dad, 2 kids have been detained in Bkk after flying in and failing a test.
