Udon ring-road traffic alert!

An unescorted wide-load will be moving slowly between the airport and the Kut Chap intersection mid-morning, Sunday. The local police don't expect too much traffic disruption so if the kiddies are a bit bored being cooped up at home, pile them in the charabanc and head over west side for a look see. At the least it may give them something different for their on line homework.

If you must post them, only tasteful pictures please.

Sorry to interrupt you two bickering .
Can anyone on this forum tell me the present situation regarding inter provincial travel .
Im getting itchy feet , and its not chilblains , so would like to take a little road trip for a few days .
Is this possible without jumping through hoops , or are we still locked into Udon only .
is that Ronnie Bickering?

AFAIK, Udon inbounders are still supposed to check-in with the local puyai bahn and self-isolate at home for 14 days on return from extra-provincial wanderings. Whether the destination province needs exactly the same will need to be confirmed with that provincial admin, website or whatever but any visitors will still need to report their arrival at their destination.

I reckon the sooner they get this QR code malarkey up and running at gas stations and roadside noodle shops, the better.

In the voice of David Attenbourgh ... here we have a rare glimpse of an almost extinct species the Scunthonian Stealth Monkey on the hunt for food or a mating partner , see the way it moves and uses its aerodynamic lines to glide effortlessly at such high speed... truly an amazing site.

Im in the same boat , need to get to my Buriram house but still being told if i go will have to saty 14 days quarantine there , which is a bummer as i got to go Bkk approx 1/2 June ... i think in most places provinces this is still the case but is it being enforced out of the main city areas of any one province is another question.

OMG! The penny has just dropped with DM's reference to a "mating partner"! Our dogs are in heat right now so he's also looking for a roadside shag on his way to Dean's International House of Pies. Maybe best not to risk the kids seeing that, eh?. Biology online doesn't kick off until next month anyway.

Don't forget the shorts DM. We don't need a repeat of last time.

So im counting my blessings it decided to refuse to start in Udon and not some backwater miles from civilisation .
Must of been some sort of sign from above .
So it looks like im stuck in udon for the moment . Maybe a day trip to Ban Dung , see if i can spot Jacks ivory tower .

May be worth waiting a while, till the bars re-open. It will also give you time to finish your summer course at Charm School.

^ Excellent news DM. Making personal contact (or reaching out as they say in modern piffle) has allowed you special consideration upon your arrival. What's the skinny on your return though? Not sure if Udon treats Buriram emigres with such trusting munificence.

the poster fancies himself a a vocabulist (sounds similar to vocabulshitist), but not as smart as he thinks on many occasions, an example

Dear Whistler,

Thanks for finally biting the bullet on your local, medical non-event.

You are correct in that you don't need anyone's permission to post what you like. By the same token you can't go around demanding apologies from people with a differing opinion especially if you haven't a clue who they are in the first place.

If you view a forum as a place where you 'dish it out' and 'cop flak' for it then maybe that's why you so easily see anyone with a slightly contrary view and a glib tongue with a hint of emoticonless sarcasm as a keyboard warrior. Some people just don't suffer fools too easily so maybe you need to smarten up or failing that, grow a thicker skin.

Anyway, keep up the good work over there. Someone needs you.

Ta
tam

The meaning of glib is (of words or the person speaking them) fluent and voluble but insincere and shallow.

While tam is indeed glib, I don't think he meant to portray himself thus.
I had a bumper sticker in Texas that read 'Beam me up Scotty'. I often wish I could find one in Udon Thani

Hang on a mo .. just read the proposed list of businesses and venues that can re open in June and im seeing
BOXING STADIUMS !!! very strange addition to the list just by the nature of the venue and its C19 history of past cluster cases.

https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/19 ... t-for-june

Im getting the entertainment zone , discotheque , bar etc closures but restaurants should be seeing some further easing and allow a beverage with a meal .. Sisaket province govenor has already allowed this but seems thats the only place im seeing that has.

Seems the blame for C19 is evil booze n the unwashed white man
