That is the stretch of road just heading up to the mountains.
They are all heading up this way.

Only good thing is there is only 1 pickup with people in the back.
Maybe the police are enforcing the law about sitting in the back of a pick up    .
OMG!! That's about 400 kilometers away!!!

We're doom'd I tell ye, doom'd!!!

Having done the eastern seaboard to Udon roadtrip on two separate Songkran holidays, I can assure the wall climbers here that they are not ALL heading up this way. The numbers drop off markedly between Korat and KK as they wander off further to the east and the last couple of hours from south of KK onwards, it is like a regular weekend. We just aint all that.

But let the stress monkeys stress and the panic merchants panic.

When I said this way I meant the North East (Issan).

I lived and worked in Pattaya/Rayong/Maptaphut for 10 years with family in Udon.

You have done the trip it 2 times so now you are the expert

I have done it numerous times so I know where the traffic thins out

You really need to chill out like everyone is telling you and stop piss taking remarks at everyone's posts.

I know you were meaning Isaan in general but the panicking stress monkeys reckon they're all coming here. This isn't Burirammap after all.

I've done the trip numerous times too but only twice during national holidays which is the current and relevant comparative situation. Nice cock wave tho'.

Regarding your advice, no I don't. Really I don't.

Apologies if this has appeared elsewhere but it is to do with inter provincial travel....

The Governor of Korat has stated that as from Sunday arrivals in the province from 10 other provinces will be subject to 14 days quarantine.
Bangkok, Phuket, Nonthaburi, Yala, Samut Prakan, Chonburi, Pattani, Songkhla, Chiang Mai and Pathum Thani (Bangkok Post)

Pity he didn't do it on Friday.

Passengers who fly into 5 provinces from Bangkok will be subject to 14 days quarantine.
Phitsanulok, Buriram, Krabi, Trang and Nakhon Phanom (The Thaiger)

I wonder if they knew that when they booked the ticket ?

As with the booze ban .. this is BIZZARE ..

No firm direction on any regulations nationwide with different provincial governors strutting about n making it up as they go along .. Korats top man will have seen the huge amount of traffic passing thru his province and moved the goal posts .. this 14 day quarantine surely makes it impossible to move about and get anything achieved whether work or a family visit ... dosent it ??

Organized Chaos .. again same with the alcohol regs .. no confirmed instruction from the top ON or FROM SUNDAY .. id laugh if it wasnt so poorly thoughtout n daft .

Go for a wee holiday and then be told by the powers that be, 2 days after the holiday begins, that you need to self isolate for 14 days at your provincial home and then (if logic is followed) another 14 days on your return from your wee break. Can just see that one being followed to the letter!!

Central should be open? With regard to the soft opening of certain businesses, today's the big day in that regard, no?

Since parks are open for exercise but not team sports, I think fitness places and gyms will be treated like 'team sport' event and won't be open until the next review. I recall reading 14-days being stated by the PM as a check point.

WRT the Korat 14-day quarantine, it would apply to those with travel terminating in the province. Vehicles in transit through with the right approvals won't have an issue.

As for DM's holesailor dilemma where I assume he will be making deliveries in other provinces, as long as he's not completely breaking the journey or otherwise overnighting in a third province, should be OK? Maybe safe to make the one-shot Udon-Bangkok round trip bringing all stock to Udon and then work out the inter-province redelivery from here as things ease or become clearer?
