While not directly relevant to Udon, a good Australian friend of mine (67yo) living in Rayong has just received his first AZ jab after registering online. It was free of charge, done through the Rayong General Hospital.

His only concern is that he was advised his 2nd shot will not be for another 16 weeks.

From my mate in Pattaya who earlier received an appointment for vaccination with whatever was available at Payathai in Bangkok on 24 June has had a better offer as follows.

"Well a change of plans. Pattaya Memorial Hospital (where I had previously registered) messaged me that from today until next week we can book Moderna at 2,000 baht per dose, in October. So with a family discussion of Astra side effects, Sinovac not being such good protection, we decided to wait for Moderna. So booked all 3 of us. The 2nd shot of Moderna is approx 4 weeks after the first shot. So I'm not going to read any more vaccination threads, just chill and wait."

We've not had the figures by province for a while. Timing differences may mean they are not in sync with local sites.
Bangkok still struggling and it's not great for Chonburi (Pattaya) or the southern provinces of Songkhla, Narathiwat or Pattani either.

I saw a recent story that the 16-week wait had been reduced to the manufacturers spec of 12 weeks so maybe get your mate to check with RGH on that.

Did he register direct with the RGH (online or walk-in) or via some other means like proactive local health office, friends with the orbortor, caring wife or partner, etc..?

I believe he registered online, via an app. Not sure which one.

He has permanent residence, but tells me this was not relevant to the registration. The Pink Card was all that was required.

I'll pass on the 12 week thing - thanks.

FWIW, Pattaya International Hospital opened their 1-week Moderna registration lists yesterday and closed them this morning.

The French Embassy is providing free Covid jabs to all its citizens over 55.
Udon is included as one of the eight areas which are giving the jabs.

The French embassy will provide free vaccines for french nationals in Thailand aged over 55. They have partnered with hospitals in eight areas in #Thailand, including Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Khon Kaen, Koh Samui, Phuket, and Udon Thani.
