'nuther good reason to wear a mask.
If you have not been tested, then you do not know if you are a carrier. It does not necessarily protect, but it does stop those infected from spreading the virus.
Absolutely spot on. I think that the reality of being asymptomatic is lost on some who maybe think you're either uninfected (and healthy) or infected (and dead). Maybe they're scared of being infected? The sort that, if they could, would be happy to go through life testing themselves daily if it meant they could pop down to the pub or go to the dogs?
All a bit selfish I think.
I think to put it simply, there are some who believe that wearing a Mask protects them even at 60kph on a Motorcycle.
There are also those who for reasons unfathomable believe that apart from going to BED, the wearing of a mask is required and get very upset if they see anyone NOT wearing one no matter where they may be even inside their own houses.
Masks by definition WILL NOT protect you from catching the AIR-BORNE VIRUS , unless it is a full face mask and even then you could catch it from touching something or even off your clothes after work as you take them off ( mask-less) before stepping into the shower. You could even catch it in your garden if the person passing coughs and you are the other side of the hedge and the solitary droplet travels the normal 6 odd feet and embeds itself in your mask-less nostril and infects you.
The wearing of a mask although I may personally think will do nothing in reality to protect me, is a sign you RESPECT what others think and therefore are showing a VISIBLE sign you understand the situation and are taking care . Mutual respect is worth a lot.
However having said that I do NOT wear a mask in my house , nor do my dogs or even the tame geckos . So far we have managed to get through unscathed with the use of Common-sense and good personal Hygiene. But life must go on as they say, enjoy it while you can as your a long time dead !
