The Tories' biggest trick? Convincing the world they have a cunning plan

Post by tamada » September 12, 2020, 10:38 am

"No matter how much of a 360-degree shitshow the government’s handling of the pandemic or its own Brexit process has been, there are people even now claiming that every cock-up or exploding gambit is a genius tactic by our wisers and betters, brilliantly designed to achieve a very specific aim. I guess it makes these cheerleader analysts feel clever. Or to put it another way: every Rorschach blot looks like a fanny if that’s what you’re after."

Does it really matter what they ( Governments ) do, any Government for that matter. Over there, we have no Vote, Old Age pension NOT increased yet they can and do retain Income TAX.
Whatever we say or do matters not, we can complain but what is the point like here, no-one listens or cares .
The only time they might listen is if Every single Expat returned to the UK and claimed all that is entitled to, including Housing, health etc, the cost of that would bankrupt the country, but until then I really do not care, get my pensions, which I bloody well worked for and sod them all.

Many countries are going to hell in a hat basket as the saying goes, now at my age I care little, feel sad for those that have to pick up the bill later ( I believe called the Millennials ) . I paid my way and will pass off this mortal coil, happy.

^ Well I still have a UK vote and am not any closer to claiming my UK pension than I was about five years ago but I do feel your apathy.

Not apathy just realism, worrying about it, will not help, raise the stress levels perhaps, but that is all , it is common-sense.

You are conflating pragmatism with realism. Over exposure to right wing politics will do that for a body long before age dictates.

As the world turns...

A Labour spokesperson said: “On the day the UK became the first country in Europe to report 50,000 coronavirus deaths and the public endure another lockdown, Boris Johnson’s government is fighting like rats in a sack over who gets what job.

Why would't they? THe higher their position the more likely a multi million pound govt contract will be handed to their "un" fit for purpose newly set up company without the need to tender for it \:D/ \:D/

Rumours abound that the Post Office has managed to deliver a package to Dom Cummings postmarked "Barnard's Castle" and that he has finally been able to see what a t*sser he is :-$ :-$

Until the 31 December 2020 the UK is still working under EU transitional rules, which basically means that all Government Contracts have to be advertised and offered to the tender process of any EU member Nation Company who wants to tender. It then comes under the scrutiny of a specialised EU/ Brussels department to ensure fairness. You are spouting absolute tosh (could think of better adjectives but would not get past the moderators) that contracts are just handed to Tory supporters. You need to lie down in a darkened room with Diane Abbot and get a bit of sanity back in your life. Thought you Secret Service guys knew this.

Do try to keep up Alex, there's a good chap .....

FYI (as it obviously slipped by without you noticing) there is currently a pandemic in UK, which Bojo has cunningly used to ride "roughshot" over the rules & regs he is supposed to adhere to .... no change there, as he did exactly that when mayor of London [-X

Just a thought, if you came out of your darkened room a bit more often, you might see what is going on.... try using the mask over your mouth instead of your eyes

The biggest problem we have is often the myopic way many look at what is happeneing woithout actually looking at the whole situation, what appears to be bias is in fact legal, but then like the Pandemic too many took the rules, understood some and not others, hence the current problems in the UK .

it is so easy to do, scan and not read and therefore mis-understand .

Alien Domonic Cummings has resigned .. walking out the door of number 10 with his cardboard box .. this following Kain his right hand man ... who obviously wasnt able (sorry about that) .. seems Boris missus has been stirring the sh8t after Cummings complained her scones were dry and her nipples tough and salty from too much breast feeding.

Life goes on .. and its all part n parcel of the current wacky world political scene in numerous nations ..

Just watched a BBC documentary about Cummings called "Taking Control: The Dominic Cummings Story". Quite enlightening for those like myself didn't care to know much about his 20-year back story.

It's available on their iPlayer for another 4 months.
