Three Days of Fighting Between Greek Police and Migrants

Source: Associated Press

No. Really? Migrant problems?
Hundreds of protesting migrants have clashed with police for a third straight day outside an overcrowded camp, with migrants throwing rocks at officers who responded with tear gas and stun grenades.

Several migrants, including children, have fainted amid the clouds of tear gas on Saturday. The protesters have lit fires to make the air more bearable, but fires have also erupted from exploding stun grenades.

Greek officials say the migrants have been mobilised by fake news originating on social media and false reports that the road to central Europe, tightly sealed to migrants for three years, is open, and that buses chartered by non-governmental organizations are waiting on the other side of the border with North Macedonia, about 60 kilometres (40 miles) to the north.
Gee, I wonder who is spreading propaganda to incite migrants?

The EU is weakening day by day.

Oh, what a drama queen. 8)

Many Europeans still lead relatively privileged lives despite your excitement that the EU might be falling apart.

Sweden Closing the Door

Migration hasn't been all it was cracked up to be -- for lots more than Sweden.

Need more diversity on the farm. Let's house some foxes in the chicken coop. Oh, wait.

Like Stalin used to say, "It's not the people who vote that count, it's the people who count the votes."

The problem with censorship is that it is rooted in WHO decides what should be censored. Who trusts the EU?
Improving the capabilities of the Union’s institutions to detect, analyse and expose disinformation; Strengthening coordinated and joint responses by EU institutions and Member States to disinformation; Mobilising the private sector to tackle disinformation; and Raising awareness about disinformation, and improving societal resilience.
Yeah. Right.

The EU is about to make a big call on the UK. It's peculiar how the UK lets the EU take the driver's seat.

Oh! how times have changed. :D

I just stumbled over this gem of a post from 2013 (my underlining):

edward-snowden-hero-or-traitor-poll-re- ... 00-30.html
Don't confuse what the US government does with the comments made here by Americans. I know of no American on this forum who is interested in projecting their will on anyone else's country. None. I don't even recall ever seeing a post in that regard.

I have never witnessed any American tell someone from another country on this forum how their government should operate, who they should elect, or even cheerlead in any of their politics for any particular candidate in that other country......................
I wasn't sure whether this belonged in the:

- EU Trade Deficit thread, or

- France in Uproar thread, or

- PM Facing No Confidence thread

or all 4. :-k

Politico ranks Populists as most influential in Europe

Salvini of Italy and Farage of the UK top the list. Globalism still struggling.
... 40 lawmakers who have had the greatest impact on the most high-profile debates of the past five years: on the rule of law across the bloc; on transparency; on regulating markets; and tackling climate change, to name a few.

This list isn’t a round-up of pro-European legislators. In fact, many MEPs chosen here have injected a heavy dose of Euroskepticism into the political discussion. Our goal is to pick out those who have wielded tangible political influence, set the agenda and stood out from their peers, driving trends both within the legislative arena and in the wider EU political debate.
Just more evidence of the tough time the EU is having with putting a narrative together that is anti-Liberty and that will be accepted. The longer the EU is in force, the more rejection appears to foment and rise from every region.

The head of Germany’s Central Council of Muslims calls for a Federal Commissioner to combat hate against people of Islamic faith. He received support from the leader of the Left Party [successor of the East German Communist Party]. The suggestion received mixed reaction in the parliament.

The Left Party backed the demand made by the head of Central Council of Muslims, Aiman Mazyek, to appoint a Federal Commissioner to fight hostility towards Muslims. “Because Islam is part of Germany, there should be a Commissioner to counter anti-Muslim hostility,” head of the Left Party, Katja Kipping, told Die Welt. “It is an expression of our basic Liberal order, that not only people who reside here can practice their faith, but also that we protect the faithful against hate and defamation.”

Kipping was reacting to Mazyek’s demand. Talking to the Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung, he had called the appointment of such a Commissioner “necessary than ever before” because there is a “latent anti-Muslim sentiment in Germany.”
The German people are not happy, but the majority fear speaking out due to all the new EU laws against free speech.

20% of Crimes in Italy Committed by 8% -- Foreigners

Source: Police Reports in Il Giornale

Italian police are reporting that 20% of Italy's crime is being committed by non-Italians. Over 5,000 arrests were committed by just under 1,000 foreign-born nationals.

Albanians, Nigerians, Moroccans, Romanians and Tunisians were the worst offenders -- in that order.

Nigerian mafia gangs have recently been creating the most problems for Italian authorities. Voodoo, violence and prostitution are their main mission.

Migration does not appear to be a happy topic of conversation in any EU country. Either the European Nationals are outspoken and unhappy about it, or silenced by "hate speech" efforts in their country.

Maybe they the Europeans could learn a lesson form the USA concerning immigrants and crime

"Native-born Americans are incarcerated at a much higher rate than immigrants.

Immigrants were much less likely to commit most violent crimes. Skye Gould/Business Insider
While the US's immigrant population has grown by more than 5 % over the last 25 years, violent crime has dropped dramatically, according to a 2015 report by the American Immigration Council, a
The foreign-born share of the US population has grown from 7.9% in 1990 to 13.1% in 2013. During the same period, FBI data shows that the violent crime rate has dropped 48%. That includes murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault. "

It appears immigrants in the US are behaving much better. WHY?

Estonia Going Rogue Against Globalism

Globalists are out. Populists and Conservatives in.

The EKRE -- populist Estonian Conservative People’s Party -- has formed a 3-way majority in the government with the Fatherland Party and the Center Party. The coalition will have the majority.

EKRE has had a historic rise in Estonia. They favor a hardline stance on immigration, believe in nationalism and have formed a kind of kinship with Italy, Hungary and Poland in their political views.

Mart Helme:
We’re going to show a firm commitment to standing up for Estonia’s cause in the government and governing in an honest and efficient way.
The EKRE Party motto is "For Estonia!" and is committed to defend the interests of ethnic Estonians.

It's not surprising that Estonia is one of the successful economies in the EU and is one of the most solvent.

Study: Britons in Every Demographic Group Want Immigration Reduced

The UK joins the anti-immigrant party in the EU. Enough is enough.

Source: The Sun

As with most People within almost EVERY COUNTRY in the EU, a majority of Brits (every age bracket and every ethnicity and both Brexit and Remain) want immigration reduced in their country.

10,000 surveyed

Want Immigration Reduced
Remainers 40 to 34
UK Asians 40 to 34
18-24 years 38 to 36

Do you wonder what older Brits and Brexiters want? Do you have to ask?

The most popular policy in the survey would require new immigrants to learn English upon arrival.

You must understand that this is not immigration, but freedom of movement between all EU countries for work purposes. :D All EU citizens have equal rights to this freedom :D So, the idealogues of greater Europe see it as perfectly fair that 7 British nationals have moved to Rumania and 270,000 Rumanians have moved to UK  Do you wonder that some of the Brits don't feel comfortable with this?

The EU doesn't seem to have the problem the Americans currently have with treason. Trump thinks there's an epidemic of treason being committed in the US:

Of course, it might just be more bollocks from Trump.
