Silly Uncle Joe.

Post by glalt » October 30, 2021, 11:53 am

We have thousands of homeless people crapping on the streets and no one seems to care. On the other hand, we have a president who insists on throwing money at people who are not even citizens:

WASHINGTON—The Biden administration is in talks to offer immigrant families that were separated during the Trump administration around $450,000 a person in compensation, according to people familiar with the matter, as several agencies work to resolve lawsuits filed on behalf of parents and children who say the government subjected them to lasting psychological trauma.

"The Trump administration did not have a system in place to quickly reunite the families it separated. Today, more than 1,000 families are estimated to still be separated from each other, according to the White House. In many cases the parents were deported back to their home countries while their children remained in the U.S. And, according to court records, more than 300 parents of separated children have still not been located."

An Executive Order was issued to STOP the act of seperating children from Families

The seperation of children from families started under Trump April 201 as a Policy but by, "By early June 2018, it emerged that the policy did not include measures to reunite the families that it had separated, Following national and international criticism, on June 20, 2018, Trump signed an executive order ending family separations at the border"

They were separated mainly because many illegals rented children to get favorable treatment. Whose fault is it that they illegally crossed the border in the first place? Now the government wants to pay them for the separation. I blame Uncle Joe for wasting many more millions of tax dollars. Send them all back to correct the problem.

Before delving into Declan's link, you may wish to read this first - by way of background.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_fo ... on_Studies
The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) is an anti-immigration think tank. It favors far lower immigration numbers, and produces analyses to further those views. The CIS was founded by historian Otis L. Graham and eugenicist and white nationalist John Tanton. The organization was founded in 1985 as a spin-off from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, and is one of a number of anti-immigration organizations founded by Tanton, along with FAIR and NumbersUSA.

Reports published by CIS have been disputed by scholars on immigration, fact-checkers and news outlets, and immigration-research organizations. The organization had significant influence within the Trump administration, which cited the group's work to defend its immigration policies......
Then make up your own mind.

Correct.

It is all one big immigration scam.

Lawbreakers in every country all over the world are separated from their families every day. Sometimes it ends up being for years. Sometimes it ends up being forever. That is the risk that criminals take and the potential for harm in which they place their children and other family members.

That risk and potential for harm increases dramatically when parents involve their children in the actual criminal activity.

Good read, thanks. The 'fix' remains undone. I guess that serves both parties if only to give both something to blame the other for.

I note that there's no mention of them using 'rental children' that another member has claimed.

Apart from that, the Center for Immigration Studies "is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit, research organization."

If they were so anti-immigrant, why didn't they mention the rental children?

Before you delve into anything from Wikipedia, you may want to consult this article.

https://nypost.com/2021/07/16/wikipedia ... blishment/
Wikipedia co-founder says site is now ‘propaganda’ for left-leaning ‘establishment’
Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger has warned that the website can no longer be trusted — insisting it is now just “propaganda” for the left-leaning “establishment.”

Sanger told UnHerd’s Lockdown TV Wednesday that he started the “encyclopedia of opinion” in 2001 purely on the basis it would offer true neutrality and offer “multiple points of view” on “hot button issues.”

Now, he insisted, conservative voices are “sternly warned if not kicked out” if they try to add a different take on establishment views — which Sanger deemed “propaganda.”
Then make up your own mind.

Gotta love it when forum conservatives start conflating refugees and asylum seekers with "lawbreakers .... and criminals". :D

If I commit a crime and have a child with me I go to jail, not the child. Illegal immigrants are criminals. They go to jail, the children do not. It is what it is. If people followed the immigration rules none of this would happen. What is the point of having borders and immigration departments if people can just enter the country as they please? Trump said he welcomed immigrants as the country needs them but he wanted the proper procedures followed so criminals and undesirables such as drug mules and dealers could be stopped.

While giving evidence at the trial of Stephen Ward, charged with living off the immoral earnings of Christine Keeler and Mandy Rice-Davies, Rice-Davies (18 years old at that time) made the quip for which she is now best remembered: when the defence counsel, James Burge, pointed out that Lord Astor denied an affair or having even met her, she retorted "Well, he would, wouldn't he?" (often misquoted as "Well he would say that, wouldn't he?")
