If you could, would you vote for Donald Trump if he runs in 2024?
Re: If you could, would you vote for Donald Trump if he runs in 2024?
Garland has been incredibly careful. If he faintly thought this would reflect badly on him, he would not have made this very bold move.
Trump was taken by surprise. I suspect this is the beginning of the end of Mr Trump

There now follows a list of US Presidents who fell foul of the FBI and prevailed.

A very good post tam, thank you.
All of these presidents pushed to the edge of the envelope apart from Reagan who could not remember where he put the envelope.
Nixon's actions were IMHO more criminal than the others, and an assault on the Democratic process (pun intended). I would suggest that Trump's efforts to overthrow the election of 2020 take it many notches above the other POTUS personalities in outright criminal behavior.
These games will play out over many years, by 2025 or even 2027 it may reach a conclusion.

Currently without exception the so-called famous ones in the GOP Caucus crying foul, forgetting that a Search Warrant waqs legally obtaioned form a Federal Judge and the Director of the FBI a Trump appointee, who on said appointment called Mr Wray a Man of utmost integrity , seems a tad ironic and reminds me of chickens coming home to roostand making SURE in the words of Merrick Garland ....NO-One is ABOVE the LAW .
Ity is called Karma and the pretentious, weak, spineless loud mothed GOP members do not like it !! Sad !!!

Re: If you could, would you vote for Donald Trump if he runs in 2024?
The questions in my mind
- Why did he take so many document boxes in the first place when his advisors knew that was a criminal act
- Has he already 'cleansed' these documents from incriminating evidence, he has had 18 months to do so
- Documents are typically given codes, are scanned, and retained in digital archives, what happens if there are anomalies
- What did the FBI know beforehand to trigger this raid
My guess maybe wishful thinking but lots of smoke means a few nasty fires about to be discovered. If this is the case, the Republican governors who are squawking will have egg all over

^ His advisors kissed his ass, drunk his Kool-Aid and swallowed his... BS.
The ultimate (and easiest) cleansing would be destruction of anything incriminatory. However, the man's a dolt.
Anomalies? You mean evidence of being "cleansed"? If he removed them before any scanning or digitising...
There's so many ongoing legal procedures against him, I would think the FBI went for the low-hanging fruit?
The US is averse to anything that besmirches the office of POTUS, so like Nixon and Clinton, some "honorable" get out of jail free card will be offered. If he's smart, he'll follow that route and avoid ignominy.
But, did I mention he's a dolt?

Here is a scoop. A source I have a lot of faith in says, it was a prominent Republican from Florida who provided the FBI with probable cause.
Republicans will lose mid-terms and blame Trump. They search for a new hero who is waiting in the wings, in two more years he has a shot at the nomination without a Trump Challenge.

One wonders when they will investigate Hunter Biden and Hilary Clinton. Surely they have clouds of suspicion hanging over their heads too. Throw them all in the clink if they are guilty.

Previous investigations have already shown these "clouds of suspicion" for what they truly are. Bipartisan mudslinging. But what the heck, there's no cap on the amount of committee's where the likes of Lindsay Graham, Josh Hawley and creatures of that ilk can jawbone on so despite there never, ever being any meaningful new evidence, have at it, burn the midnight oil and re-investigate anyway. There's a whole pointless political narrative that needs feeding here.Laan Yaa Mo wrote: ↑August 10, 2022, 10:13 pmOne wonders when they will investigate Hunter Biden and Hilary Clinton. One wonders when the s0-called Politicians actually deal with the problems at hand and assist and pass laws to benefit their voters rather than spend in-ordinate amounts of time doing the mud-slinging and name calling more akin to a childs playground antics than an intelligent adult !!Laan Yaa Mo wrote: ↑August 10, 2022, 10:13 pmOne wonders when they will investigate Hunter Biden and Hilary Clinton.
