But it's funny that up until 3 months ago America was great, and now all of the sudden is falling apart. It doesn't take a genius to see which side of the fence a person is on based on their posts.

Yes when locked down ,huge unemployment ,10,000's dying every month , with no plan ,that was making america great again. But getting vaccinated ,reducing unemployment and the death toll dropping are bad. One way was just all down hill , the next a slog back up. Without political bias which is a better outcome ?

Here's an openly obsequious homage to America's already world-beating greatness.

"For one and half centuries, the US has been the world’s most innovative economy. That has been the basis of its global power and influence. ..."

But get beyond the graphics and the statistics and the real message is real clear (my emphasis).

"... The US is unlikely to remain the world’s dominant power, simply because China’s population is more than four times as big. Yet, provided the US remains democratic, free and open, it has a good chance of staying the world’s most influential country far into the future. If it decides instead to be what its reactionaries desire, it will fail. But that would be its own choice, not its fate."

I think the key key word here is 'innovative'?

Regardless, it's all grist to the mill in the context of the whole opinion piece where America's current greatness is self-evident. It's maintaining the greatness that could be imperiled by those clinging to the previous administration's inward-looking, and mislabeled 'America First' mantra.

Simply put if it is Innovation then USA is third Behind Switzerland and Sweden

As for your presentation could you please tone it down for all us mortals One example is what has corn and a grist mill got to do with innovation
Hope this helps

Biden's recent speech to Congress was all about U.S. first 'Buy America').

My presentation? Oh dear...

I did say from the get go that it was a bit obsequious but since "grist to the mill" has apparently confounded you, I can appreciate how you missed that.

The article I referenced and linked to attempts to quantify 150 years of economic innovation. Thanks for pointing out that a small, middle European nation with a history of questionable ethics and a murky past has recently pipped the U.S. at the post.

I already agreed that it was. Outside of the fact that this wasn't delivered at a rally so much favored by the former guy, I was just illuminating the more statesmanlike presentation.

Read, not watched, I don't have a TV in Toronto, and would not have watched either of their speeches anyway. In fact, I read a comment by a pro-Biden public school friend, now living in Milwaukee, write favourably in facebook about the speech. My other academic source was remembering something about Trump wanting to make the U.S. great again, and a bunch of his supporters wearing red baseball caps instead of oversized winter mittens a la Bernie.

CBS Poll That Found 85% of Americans Approved of Biden's Speech Is Hiding a Dirty Secret
A mere 19 percent of respondents answered that they considered themselves to be either somewhat or very conservative, while 44 percent described themselves as being somewhat or very liberal. Thirty-three percent identified as being moderate while 4 percent of respondents, somehow, did not know where they fall on the political spectrum. With regard to party makeup, Democrats who were polled outnumbered Republicans 54 percent to 18 percent, while independents made up 25 percent.

Biden’s #JointAddress Was An Unmitigated Embarrassment. Here’s Why…
Joe Biden entered the House of Representatives tonight, a fully-grown, adult vaccinated man, wearing a mask despite recent CDC guidance on those who have had their shots. Everyone in the chamber tonight had received a vaccine . Fake from head to toe.

https://amgreatness.com/2021/04/29/bide ... -rhetoric/

Biden’s Shameful ‘Attack on Our Democracy’ Rhetoric
His shameless descriptions of January 6 desecrate the memory of those lives lost in real attacks against this country and serve to justify the ongoing attack on our democracy he is perpetrating. Joe Biden is either an historical illiterate or a shameless liar. Perhaps he is both. Desperate to keep the disintegrating narrative about the events of January 6 alive, Biden, in his first sparsely attended speech to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday night, declared the January 6 protest was “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.”

Soaring lumber prices add $36,000 to the cost of a new home, and a fierce land grab is only making it worse
Lumber prices seem to set a new record almost daily, now up 67% this year and up 340% from a year ago, according to Random Lengths, a wood products industry tracking firm. And lumber doesn’t just go into framing a house. Those added costs hit cabinets, doors, windows and flooring.

Catholic Bishops To Consider Officially Barring Joe Biden From Receiving Communion
The move comes as Biden advocates radical policies at odds with the church. When the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) meets in June, they will debate over one of the most contentious and high profile issues in the church: whether or not Catholic politicians who advocate policies at odds with Church Doctrine, specifically support for abortion, are able to receive Holy Communion and remain in good standing with the Church. In this century you can not be a Democrat and a Catholic . They do not go together.

Taxpayer costs soaring for Biden border surge, contracts show
Since Jan. 20, administration has spent hundreds of millions of dollars for meals, medical care, legal services, and temporary facilities for those illegally crossing the southern border. It is a tax on all Americans where these people flood schools and other city and county services.

Yes, nothing says lifting America up from the slums like opening the borders to hundreds of thousands of unskilled, uneducated, Central American economic migrants who can't speak English but can cite chapter and verse of Biden's free hotel rooms, free health care, free Wuhan Flu shots, free attorney, free food pantry, free education, a driver's license, free worker's compensation, consequence-free crime sprees, etc.

Without the "thousands of unskilled, uneducated, Central American economic migrants", who's waiting on your table, bussing your leftovers to the kitchen, running your car through the car wash and mowing your lawns?

TBH, the team of black guys that now do my trees and lawns back in Houston are much better than the Hispanics I used before.

I guess that revelation itself will only make some here even more upset but it is what it is.
