From the great Mark Twain;

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

Sorry you are wrong, Bill Clinton WAS impeached, just not convicted by Senate.

"On December 19, 1998, Clinton became the second American president to be impeached (the other being Andrew Johnson, who was impeached in 1868)[a] when the House formally adopted articles of impeachment and forwarded them to the United States Senate for adjudication. A trial in the Senate began in January 1999, with Chief Justice William Rehnquist presiding. On February 12, Clinton was acquitted on both counts as neither received the necessary two-thirds majority vote of the senators present for conviction and removal from office – in this instance 67. On Article One, 45 senators voted to convict while 55 voted for acquittal. On Article Two, 50 senators voted to convict while 50 voted for acquittal.[3] Consequently, Clinton remained in office for the balance of his second term."

The Bad Boy.
Luckily the USA has this process of impeachment., In other countries one would have a choice of beheading or being overthrown and escape to a neutral country like Nicaragua
Maybe Mr Dump could head back to Germany

And Nixon was not impeached because he resigned the day after being urged to by several leading members of his own party, who told him that he was going to lose the vote on impeachment in Congress.

I don't know, but given the fact that Trump is the greatest at everything and has to be best at everything known to man, maybe he will be the first to be convicted in the Senate. I know, wishful thinking.

SO, if you are indited and go on trial for some crime and the jury finds you not guilty, do you still go to jail?

Of course not.

But the social stigma of subsequently being worth less than a footnote in the great history US presidents should suffice. He can of course look forward to a wonderful post-presidential career in irrelevance, guesting as a political expert on Fox News, wallowing in the ever deepening and fetid ejaculate of frequent Hannity mutual circle-jerks.

Kanye can run for POTUS under the banner of the National Narcissist Party and have the incumbent as his running mate.

"The Looming ‘1984’ Election

Like it or not, 2020 is going to be a plebiscite on an American version of Orwell’s Nineteen-Eighty-Four. For a variety of reasons, the 2020 election is going to be a referendum beyond Donald Trump’s record and his Democratic opposition. The furor that Trump has incurred, and the radical antithesis to his agenda and first term, have redefined the looming election. It is becoming a stark choice between a revolutionary future versus American traditionalism. The choice in reductionist terms will be one between a growing, statist Panopticon, fueled by social media, a media-progressive nexus, and an electronic posse. Online trolls and government bureaucrats seek to know everything about us, in Big Brother fashion to monitor our very thoughts to ferret out incorrect ideas, and then to regiment and indoctrinate us to ensure elite visions of mandated equality and correct behavior—or else!

In other words, the personality quirks of a Trump or an Elizabeth Warren or a Bernie Sanders will become mostly irrelevant given the existential choice between two quite antithetical ideas of future America. In 2020 we will witness the penultimate manifestation of what radical progressivism has in store for us all—and the furious, often desperate, and unfettered pushback against it.

We are also well beyond even the stark choices of 1972 and 1984 that remained within the parameters of the two parties. In contrast, the Democratic Party as we have known it, is extinct for now. It has been replaced since 2016 by a radical progressive revolutionary movement that serves as a touchstone for a variety of auxiliary extremist causes, agendas, and cliques—almost all of them radically leftwing and nihilistic, and largely without majority popular support."

"Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire media mogul and former New York City mayor, added his name to the Democratic primary ballot in Arkansas on Tuesday as he continued to publicly toy with running for president.

Bloomberg has not officially said whether he will run in the 2020 race, but has acknowledged he is considering a bid and qualified on Friday for the Alabama ballot. Each U.S. state conducts separate qualifying processes."

The fate of the world is not much dependent on events and issues such as BREXIT, U.S. left vs. right, socialism or free enterprise, etc., but on the observable and documented death of The Western Civilization as was described in this 10-year old interview. If you view it, you know it to be true.

Term Limits
These life time politicians have to go. They become out of touch of what is happening to America.

(Bloomberg) -- In the end, the unraveling economics of U.S. coal proved too much for even a giant among power generators to handle.

At 12:09 p.m. local time on Monday -- after churning out electricity for almost five decades -- the largest coal-fired power plant in the western U.S. permanently closed, becoming the latest testament to the fossil fuel’s decline. Once a flash point in President Donald Trump’s campaign to save America’s coal industry, the Navajo complex in the Arizona desert will now spend the next three years being dismantled and decommissioned."

I doubt it will ever collapse. His cult followers are so enamoured with him and his hate and bigotry for "everyone else" that it seems at this point all the BS he has spewed as to what he was going to get accomplished if elected has become irrelevant. When something happens or doesn't get done all he does is blame someone else, whether it's within his own party or not. But come to think of it I believe he is claiming to be Republican by necessity, not by choice. He is a lone wolf but "his party" is too chicken s___ to stand up to him. Until that happens, this charade is going to continue. But like they always say, the bill will come due, but probably not until after he is out of office.

Just as well Richard Nixon didn't have some drama queens such as Fox News batting for him.

I was too young for Nixon, but I do remember Clinton. The way I see things, it's not so much the actual action at times where people like Clinton, whom I respected as a President, got themselves into trouble, but what happened afterwards, i.e. lying to Congress about it. Clinton should have been impeached and removed from office, just like Trump should be impeached and removed from office for, amongst other things, obstruction, using the office for personal gains, etc. But this party line BS is why there is no confidence in Congress, not holding individuals accountable and the Constitution be damned. But the current POTUS has set the bar VERY low when it comes to ethics and respectability of the office of the President of the United States of America.
