Considering I was handed their card, and recommendation by Udon Immigration, I would agree.

Thanks for posting that. When I asked ntvf to post what he had on the business card he got, it wasn't for me but for other members who may need their services now that the amnesty is (almost) officially extended.

I'm not sure its the same amnesty ,this time they're saying get a visa or get out. More like a final warning. Also they don't say what visas will be available . I don't think tourist visas will be available for sure , and I can't see them doing anymore 60 day extensions. I was lucky as my non O was still valid so changing to retirement was not a problem.

No, it is an extension of the 'do nothing' amnesty. Last Friday, the RTP Immigration said the amnesty would end 31 Jul and the grace period would run 1 Aug to 26 Sep. What they forgot to mention was that this would be their recommendation to the NSA, CCSA, cabinet and PM, not policy. Their recommendation was not accepted as part of phase 6 of the easing of restrictions. I was also confused between last weeks unconfirmed rumor versus this weeks unconfirmed rumor. We will also be waiting to see if the 11th hour add-on of allowing Elite Visa holders to join the queue has been approved.

The only agency that appears to be able to make edicts and have them cabinet and PM approved after the fact is CAAT. This following is not exactly from the horse's mouth as they do tend to make their own, direct statements however it does look highly likely that if CAAT want a longer commercial flight ban, it will be approved. If flights remain banned, borders will remain closed IMHO.
