TungSriMuang Festival Cancelled

Post by parrot » October 26, 2016, 4:39 pm

Due to the countrywide mourning period, city officials today announced the annual TungSriMuang festival will be cancelled. The festival is usually held for 2 weeks at TungSriMuang at the beginning of December.

I believe that there is a memorial service being held at Tung Sri Muang today from 4.30pm.
So be aware that traffic around that area,Phosri road,Nong Prajak etc. is going to be very heavy today.
I also believe that free motorcycle taxis will be available for those wishing to attend.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

I have noticed that there seems to be no aerobics in Nong Prajak Park in the evenings. Wonder about all the other festivities like Chinese New Year, Udon Thani Dancing and Songkran?

I understand that all celebrations are only cancelled for the 30 days and not the whole year
So New Years Songkran etc are still to be celebrated

Hope this helps

My understanding as well.

But it can change in the blink of an eye.

Flawed logic. The festival would have been clearly after the thirty day period.

I may happen.......as most knee jerk reactions are changed when a bit of thinking is used, especially when money is involved.

And one year of official mourning. I believe that government workers will be the ones most affected by the one year mourning period.
