Maybe the same robber?
"My Norwegian friend was robbed in Udon last night, watch out
A guy on a Wave grabbed his bag with credit cards, insulin stuff and cash right off the table at Smiling Frog."

Yes, according to the news report, the individual had medication inside his fanny pack.
Re: Brazen Daytime Theft
Not quite as brazen as the thieves that rip the bag off the victims
Re: Brazen Daytime Theft
If I was aware of another crime like this in Udon, I wouldn't be skeptical. But being the first.....that I'm aware of.....makes me wonder if there's something else going on.
Re: Brazen Daytime Theft
Ya ba feins need a fix so easy opportunities will be taken
Re: Brazen Daytime Theft
Yep discovered Soi Farang, and last night plenty of valuables being left on tables, quick grab and do a runner
Quality is best done first
Re: Brazen Daytime Theft
Ban fanny packs? Sartorial inelegance will always get you, one way or another.
Re: Brazen Daytime Theft
Another one...
CCTV from a restaurant in downtown Udon Thani showed the moment a thief made off with a British pensioner's phone that he had left on a table.
Udon Thani police were called by Nathamon the owner of the restaurant in Soi Prachanimit who said that this was the first time anyone had done such a thing at her place that she opened years ago.
The victim - Mr Martin, 68 - had been having a coffee with a couple of old mates when a man parked a motorcycle out front.
He was about 30-40, with a beard and a pierced left ear.

Re: Brazen Daytime Theft
Hands up, well done the Udon police for the happy ending. So, sorry, if it didn't cause me to smile to see the farang present the senior officer in the video opportunity with a handful of flowers. Perhaps it's my age, my years of being here and experience, but I'm very sure he would have preferred some beer money. Maybe he got that too?
