Khun Noosard has grabbed his bucket n spade , knotted hanky plus the entire family and buggared off on holiday ... hes now somewhere near the sea playing pocket billiards in a hospitel ... he will be reprimanded upon his return by the UOFES chairman for not leaving information re the arrival of the millinery shipment.

Friday looms large and no word if Noos' shipment of flat hattery will be available for the hoi polio who seek to join us.

On another topic, Papafarang's lasagna offerings in lieu of beef stew have been well received (except by Alex who never turns up) but I wonder if it's time for a change? Since a fair few UM'ers, both UFES and wannabe UFES, have been recently lambasted for being either a sheep or a mushroom, I thought this might help our online research efforts?

Lunch is decided upon what's available at the moment, trying to find Barley ,leeks and celery at a cost of less than the beef is, we'll just have to wait and see.

Perhaps EFES could discuss the current ridiculous surge in Pork prices due to we are told World demand. This does seem a trifle silly when a couple of months ago they were slaughtering and composting thousands of pigs in UK due to lack of abattoir workers to humainly kill the beasts, causing the UK to import from abroad to make up the shortfall.

Im not overly fussed re the food as i go for the weekly speaker , uplifting conversation and helpful tips on gardening, home decor and the best pile cream currently on the market ... not forgeting chitchat that the earth is indeed semi flatish on the edges..

lots of food options and im sure what ever PF chooses twill be cock on.

Beef stoo seems like a nono due to ingredients costs

so possibles include..

Goulash
Cottage pie
Hot pot Betty Turpin style
** Texas style Chilli Con Carne .. gets DMs vote
Lasagne
Sausage casserole
Bangers n Mash
Mince n Tatties
** Corned beef hash .. another DM Fav

Hope that helps

Nice slag off Tam.
We have been hit by a few family deaths not least wife's Pa Pa (when we were in Pattaya) then his brother died the day after Pa Pa's funeral. Needed a couple of nights down in KK with a friend and his wife over the New Year just for a break. So calendar has been pretty busy. Nothing stopping Dean making more and sticking them in the freezer.

still no ingredients for the stew, everywhere seems to be out of stock of the basics. so today improvisation time .. stew but not my normal recipe, and just for fun some dumplings. I think today we might discuss the competition, UM conspiracy group seems to be out doing the UFES nutters. so today were going to ask . Is Henry Kissinger one of the lizard people, and why can't you find glasses that can hold a large bottle of chang, why do hot dogs come in a 5 pack but the rolls only come in packs of 4 or 6 ? questions need answers.

The personal losses aside, sorry if you feel I slagged you off.

FWIW, I have bought the excess lasagna on a couple of occasions so it's not going to waste. Well, eventually it is of course.

What can I say about the culinary delight that was served to the UFES attendees today.
There are not enough glowing superlatives I can offer suffice to say the ball was knocked out of the court by Udon’s very own Master Baker
Brilliance – thank you Dean

Friday's topics haven't been formalized yet due to the alleged flounce by a member of the committee at last week's bash.

In these trying economic times with pork prices through the roof, PF hard-pressed to come up with an economical repast for attending members and some earnestly seeking revenue streams to augment their paltry pensions, I propose we may discuss the opportunities of becoming a BBM model?

if i make lasagna one week they want it next week too, until i pull stew and dumpling in which case they want stew and dumplings next week, if i make cottage pie they want cottage pie next week  . who needs a menu when they just get excited over anything we serve up. being a pie maker i might bugger them up by serving pies. or maybe the giant 650g oggies.

Well, as long as there's no controversy being served up, I reckon we'll all get along just fine (again).

Good show for yesterday's more sombre meet with 4 flat caps among those in attendance. There would have been 5 but bloody Graham carked it.

RIP Graham, I enjoyed your stew.

C U in heaven (put in a good word for me).
