Google Pay and Samsung Pay

Post by jackspratt » August 12, 2020, 4:38 pm

Has anyone successfully used either of the above (using their mobile phone NFC and contactless payment) when shopping in Udon - based on an overseas credit card?

Specifically, I am looking at Big C.

Thanks

A bump of this topic.

Any updates?

Reason being, I am looking at upgrading my phone, and whether NFC should be one the requirements.

Have no idea about touch and go but I had to renew my WizzTv account a few weeks ogo. They no longer accept credit cards only debit cards or thru Google Pay. I tried using my debit card but failed so signed up to Google and had no problem. Easy!!!
Edit: On my phone it's called DNS. Used in Aus on my last trip. Was a "senior moment" the 1st time = 555555

Haven't used either (doubt my old phone would cope). just use my UK credit card to make contactless payments - usually BigC and Lotus.

I have been using my Oz credit card to make contactless payments at receptive Thai venues for a few years now.

I am looking for actual experience of people using Google Pay/Wallet on their phone - via NFC.

Would have thought that's quite an expensive way to do Rick. Even paying of 100% each month the exchange rates are normally very poor. I just use my Kashikorn debit card.

Alex, not expensive at all, with the right card. I get a better exchange rate than that often hyped Wise. Just the Mastercard exchange rate, no extras.

Would that be the Halifax clarity card?
