COVID-19's Effects on Udon Map

Post by Udon Map » April 18, 2020, 1:02 pm

To our Udon Map friends:

Udon Map has not escaped the effects of the virus. I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how it has affected us and some changes we have made. The Coronavirus has affected pretty much every business in the world. Some have closed, some temporarily and others permanently. Some have fired employees, some have reduced the number of staff, some have instituted pay reductions. Here's what's going on at Udon Map:

Staff: The positions of our staff are secure. Since there is much less work to do, our staff is only working part time. However, there will be no layoff, and no salary reductions. Our staff continue to be paid at their full, regular salaries.

Map: We published the March/April issue of the Map; but we have not published the Map since then. We hope to resume publication soon; however, that will depend on when business starts returning to something approaching normal, and when the government begins to lift restrictions.

Guide: We published the January-March issue of the Udon Thani Guide; but we suspended publication of the April-June issue. We have new software for publishing and viewing the Udon Thani Guide online, and will resume publishing the Guide online with the July-September issue. We will resume the print edition depending on when business starts returning to something approaching normal, and when the government begins to lift restrictions. The online version of the Guide may be found at: www.udonmap.com/guide

Resource Guide: The Udon Thani Resource Guide is unaffected. We continue to make additions to the Resource Guide as we receive information from businesses which would like to be listed. If your business is not listed and you would like it to appear, just let us know. The best way is to send an email to [email protected]. I’ll be in touch with you and we’ll get your business listed.

If you own a restaurant, we will also be happy to put your menu up online. Here’s an example of how it will look: https://www.resourceguide.udonmap.com/n ... sushi-menu.

Listings in the Udon Thani Resource Guide are free. That includes putting your menu into the Guide, as well. The Resource Guide may be found at: www.resourceguide.udonmap.com

To our advertisers: We are not charging for the March-April issue of the Udon Thani Map; and we will not charge until we resume publication. Advertising contracts will be extended so that your ad will still appear in the same number of issues.

We are not charging for the April-June issue of the Udon Thani Guide; and we will not charge until we resume publication. Advertising contracts will be extended so that your ad will still appear in the same number of issues. Your ad will also appear in the online version of the Guide; however, there will be no charge until we resume publication of the regular, printed edition.

Regarding banner advertising on UdonMap.com, we are not charging for March or April. We will resume regular charging depending on when business starts returning to something approaching normal, and when the government begins to lift restrictions. Until then, your banner will continue to appear on the website at no charge. Advertising contracts will be extended accordingly.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, at [email protected].

Like you, we look forward to getting things back to normal as soon as safely possible!

Well done for keeping all your staff fed and watered Paul, it’s kind of you, a lot of bosses aren’t.
The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.
