The Proposal
The Proposal
Australia is set to pledge its support to reduce global methane emissions by 30 per cent by 2030.
Now in government, Labor Agriculture Minister Murray Watt said he supported the target.
"The proposal would see New Zealand farmers lead the world in reducing emissions, delivering a competitive advantage and enhancing our export brand.
"No other country in the world has yet developed a system for pricing and reducing agricultural emissions, so our farmers are set to benefit from being first movers."

Noosard,
The push is coming from the Labour Federal Government by polarising the LNP rural vote at a federal level by promoting the reduction in methane output by 30% and in doing so appease those in the highly populated inner suburban cities who are the vegan/Shiraz sipping electors who now appear to have control of the ALP think tank and in turn future election outcomes.

That would be a yes, all the teal set have not experienced the hardship of remote living, working the land, the isolation that comes with it to produce a highly valued resource from the paddock to the plate.

Re: The Proposal
The thing is the proposal has nothing but pretty words saying we are saving the world
If they grow some and put the pressure on lowering ag methane who do think is going to pay

Re: The Proposal
When I was last in the UK , I had a farmer friend who had Cattle and Pigs a lot of them . THe Manure was as you would expect collected and put in what we all know as Slurry tips, however he also harvested the Methane from these tips which were topped up daily .
The methane ran the power supply to the Farm including a substantial Milking Shed, All Electricity for the FARM ETC. sO APART FROM THE EMISSIONS about which as he put it , Not beiong GOD, I can do nothing about. He also ran at least TWO farm vehicles on methane.
Just for info

All that remote living - have those people been conscripted, or are they just doing it out of the goodness of their heart(s)?trekkertony wrote: ↑October 14, 2022, 2:01 amJust to clarify, are they also exclusively dressing in Teal?
