Which novel begins, "It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen."
1984. I didn't Google.

Myanmar for longest land border (probably)

I like quizzes.

The first scene from which book was set in the Korova Milk Bar??

Answers on a postcard for a chance to win a ten shilling postal order. Dont forget to send a sae.
Correct answers to both. Korova milk bar? Dunno, Barry. This is where I find a book that's worth reading like the time someone told me about Max Sebald.

I suspect that someone on here may be unaware of the current value of an old 10/- postal order?

I'm sure you've already read it Earnest.

It's set in the future so out of the 1984 envelope which was why I was reminded of it. Having said that 1984 clearly isnt the future now so, I'm confused.

Alex was the anti-hero of the book and the movie was, if I remember correctly, banned at the time. Come on, there's a crisp 10 Bob note at stake.

The resistance to Googling and not appearing to be a clever clogs that is being exhibited herein is quite remarkable. However, at what point do we collectively appear to be thick as a brick and throw the towel in whereupon someone posts the correct answer and thus allows this otherwise excellent thread to move forward?

You cheated, of course.

Cheating would be Googling AND subsequently posting the correct answer, no?

As to the Bayerische Motoren Werke AG in the 1940's question, they certainly did NOT manufacture entertaining and insightful online forum quizzes.

'Researchers with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Ocean Exploration team discovered multiple sets of holes on the Atlantic ocean floor late last month during the Voyage to the Ridge 2022 expedition.' What is the origin of the holes in the ocean floor?
