Lots of fishing boats lit up tonight that I can’t say I’ve noticed before.

Looks like we may have a bit of fontog coming in this evening which will be a shame for the Pattaya Music Festival

Didn’t rain after all last night so all good at the music festival.

Delightfully cool this morning with a little breeze

^it was packed last night & tonight too.
Beach Road closed to traffic & two lanes of second road given up for parking.
I tried to get on stage with a couple of spoons I’d stolen from the breakfast buffet but they still had remnants of cake on them so wouldn’t clack. The audience were not impressed

Very trying so I’ve been told

Thought I heard rain in the night.
Looks like it’s brightening up nicely now though. The walkways are steaming a bit

We’re now back in the metropolis with no plans for southbound travel in the near future

Please see the Udon & Nong Khai weather threads for current updates, cheers 👍

I,ve always rated Christmas a lot higher than New Year .....maybe some Brits can relate to this....
Wake up Xmas morning, open presents then Full English Breakfast (bacon, eggs, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, fried potatoes etc)
Then friends and relatives start coming round and it's down the pub for a swift 'arf.
Back home time for the Turkey Christmas dinner with Xmas pud in a brandy sauce after, washed down with beer or champagne or wine.
2pm..its Top of the Pops Xmas special, then the Queens speech... Later there's a dreadful Xmas panto on TV starring people like Larry Grayson, Keith Chegwin, Anthea Turner and Rolf Harris so whilst that's on its time for the Sherry Trifle and Christmas Cake.
Evening TV, settle down with beer and choccies to watch the likes of All Creatures Great and Small,The Two Ronnie's, Only Fools and Horses, Morecambe and Wise and then the film which would be either The Great Escape or The Alamo.

Boxing Day... wake up with a bit of a sore head but it's football today so down the pub for a few scoops before taking in a match.
There used to be some cracking local games.... Liverpool v Manchester City, Manchester United v Everton,Spuds v Chelsea, Newcastle v Sunderland, Leeds v Sheffield Wednesday, Scunthorpe v Grimsby, Macclesfield v Altrincham etc ....quite often return fixtures were on New Years Day.

That's what Christmas was all about for me in the UK.... oh and Christmas Eve out with friends for a few beers and nosh after finishing work at lunchtime.

Note : Moved this post to its correct place in the Christmas 2020 thread...wtf...
Incidentally this weekend the weather is expected to dip to 11c here but south of Udon at Khon Kaen it will be a relatively mild 13c...thats where I will be Saturday /Sunday.

Notice how I,ve cleverly included the weather in my original off topic post now ;)

All very interesting & I can relate to the days as described although not quite as fondly but “The Weather - South of Udon”?

No need to be sorry 😂

No need to move it, I’d just copy the text & post a reply in the other thread.
This thread has died an expected death & will soon drop off the active topics list

^120kgs plus in speedos, thank goodness you’ll be refraining.
Board shorts would be more appropriate, I know these things

Left somewhere in Buriram province last night at about 17:00 & it was 23 degrees. The sun was still setting so it would only get colder. Everyone in the village was lighting fires & wrapping up in warm clothes
