M&M's
Initially only the military could have them
Another surprising fact about the candy favorite: in the beginning it was only available to the military. The tubes of chocolate were included in soldiers' rations and were ideal as they didn’t melt and could be resealed. It wasn’t until later in the decade that civilians could get their hands on them.
Billions of M&M’s are produced every day
The world has a serious appetite for these colorful candies and there are factories in both Hackettstown, New Jersey, and Cleveland, Tennessee. According to an employee at the Hackettstown branch, the NJ factory produces approximately two billion M&M's every eight hours.

What a way to go
Killer bird
In 2011, a man died during an illegal cockfight in California. The owner had apparently strapped a knife/razor to the bird's leg, so the cockerel accidentally slashed the man fatally.

Stars who died due to alcohol
Mickey Mantle
Mickey Mantle was a baseball legend who is widely regarded as the greatest switch hitter in history. He was also a very heavy drinker for many years.
In early 1995, doctors found that Mantle's liver had been rotted by hepatitis, cirrhosis, and cancer. He received a liver transplant, but ultimately died on August 13, 1995.
John Bonham
John Bonham was an English musician best known for the being the drummer of Led Zeppelin. He died at the age of 32 due to asphyxiation from vomit.
The coroner's inquest revealed that Bonham had been on a real bender the day before his death, and reports suggest he had kicked off the day with 16 shots of vodka at breakfast.
Oliver Reed
English actor Oliver Reed died of a heart attack during a break from filming 'Gladiator' (2000).
As the story goes, Reed, who was renowned for being a heavy drinker but who had apparently been off booze for months prior, got involved in a drinking match that ultimately killed him.

Coca-Cola was the first Olympic sponsor
Never one to miss an advertising opportunity, Coca-Cola was the first-ever Olympic sponsor, beginning its sponsorship at the Summer Games hosted in Amsterdam in 1928. Pictured is a Coca-Cola stall at Wembley Stadium, London, during the Olympic Games in August 1948.
Troops were sent Coca-Cola as a matter of great importance
During the Second World War, one of the Coca-Cola leaders Robert Woodruff declared servicemen and women should be able to get a bottle of Coca-Cola for 5 cents wherever they were in the world, no matter what it cost the company. More than five billion bottles of Coke were distributed to US troops. Portable soda fountains were even flown into remote areas in the South Pacific. This photo shows servicemen in Panama City, Florida, circa 1942.
It would take you 11 years to try every product
The Coca-Cola Company doesn't only sell Coke, it has around 4,000 different drinks across 500 brands. In fact, Coca-Cola makes so many products, if you tried one product from its portfolio every day, it would take you just under 11 years to try them all.

Ah yes, Izzy. East Putney, isn't it? I seem to remember he had a hankering for the boatmen down by the docks. Did he ever apologise to you?
It's true that he and Doodoo are like two peas in a pod in the way they post carelessly and without regard to proper protocol.

Is the action of cut and paste from the Interweb cathartic? Are we all engaging in a vast therapy session for one person? The posts seem meaningless now so what's the intent, the purpose?
So many questions, Uncle T.

Thank you, DooDoo, I'm more than happy to contribute to this group therapy session if it helps.
Hardly a squabble, Cali, more like I'd poke him with a sh!tty stick and he'd bite (on occasion).

Synanceia is a genus of ray-finned fish belonging to the subfamily Synanceiinae, the stonefishes, which is classified within the family Scorpaenidae, the scorpionfishes and relatives. THE LONGEST DAY (1962)
Made on a budget of $10 Million it was a gamble as the movie Cleopatra was also being produced at a cost of $40 million We all know that the Longest Day was a huge sucess (box office $50.1 Million)
22 USN ships were borrowed for the making of the film
Richard Todd a British Actor who played in the movie actually was a member of D Day. The Beret he wore was also the one he wore from D Day
23,000 active troops were used as extras

The world's Coca-Cola consumption reaches the moon and back
Coca-Cola is the most widely consumed fizzy drink, so it may not come as a surprise that if you gathered all the Coke bottles ever consumed, it would require an awful lot of space. In fact, if you bottled every drop of Coca-Cola ever produced in 227ml (8oz) bottles and laid them end-to-end, they would reach to the moon and back more than 2,000 times.
Coca-Cola was the first soft drink to be consumed in space
The 1980s was a particularly exciting time for the brand, with Coca-Cola becoming the first soft drink to be consumed in space. In 1985, astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger drank the fizzy drink from special Coca-Cola space cans.
