Exactly. You are amazing, sometimes.

Not really, Uncle T, not when Giggly keeps farting in the day room.

Who gave him that buttermilk?

Buttermilk...I thought it was homo milk that caused the flatulence.

In case you were wondering, yes, it really happened: The World Is Still Hilariously Confused About Canadian Homo Milk
Homo milk is happy milk!

Growing up in Canada you might not even know that homo milk is basically just a True North thing. Much like toonies, toques, double-doubles and "eh," it just happens to be one of those things that are distinctly Canadian (who knew?!) And with a name that sounds so misleading, you can bet that the world is more than confused about what us Canadians are doing to our milk and honestly it's hilarious.' - https://www.narcity.com/it-might-be-201 ... -homo-milk

'Homogenized or homo milk (meaning shaken up so the fat solids combine with the liquid), includes calcium, protein, potassium and vitamins A, B12, D, E and K. Because homo milk contains 3.25% milk fat, it’s more nutrient-dense (nutrients come from healthy fats). Plus, it’s ideal for frothing and adding to your latte or cappuccino.' - https://new.milk.org/Our-products/Milk might-be-2018-but-the-world-is-still-hilariously-confused-about-canadian-homo-milk

I think a significant percentage of Canadians will be lactose intolerant and will experience discomfort rather than happiness from consuming milk. Also the predominant scientific view is that saturated fat is harmful to health. The second link is corporate spin. Doodoo had an earlier post in this thread some weeks or months ago about dairy that I thought was fairly accurate.

1)

Wrestlers WWF/WWE that have been in the Olympics

Mark Henry
1996 Olympic Games
He took part in the weightlifting competition, but due to a back injury, his performance was actually disappointing. He finished 14th even though he could have done much better due to his experience. However, Henry became a true star during that period and attracted the attention of Vince McMahon. He offered Henry an unbelievable 10-year contract on the spot, which is something that is very unheard of.

'Mad Dog' Vachon
is a WWE Hall Of Famer and is someone who had a big impact on the business during his time in the sport. His character was very wild and aggressive and 'Mad Dog' always pulled things off well.
However, that's mainly due to his strong background as an amateur wrestler. He competed in the 1948 Olympic Games, finishing 7th overall. He impressed in the tournament and proved himself to be a great grappler in the process

The Iron Sheik Iranian or American
From one WWE legend to another, The Iron Sheik is another talent who has been involved in the Olympic Games throughout his life. WWE claimed that he wrestled and represented Iran, but that was only a storyline.
However, he did play a big part in the 1972 Olympic Games where he worked as an assistant to the coach for the USA team, proving that he has a lot of knowledge in the sport.

2
KAMIKAZE PILOTS

The Kamikaze pilots who returned fall into two distinct groups. Those who returned due to weather conditions or mechanical failures in their place and those who returned due to not being able to perform their task successfully due to psychological reasons. Each group received different treatment on their return.

The pilots who could prove that their return was caused by conditions outside of their control were neither punished nor looked down upon. During a stage of the war when even pilots were classed as a scarce resource the Japanese could not afford to lose a well trained Kamikaze pilot and thus their return was accepted and their ‘last flight’ was rescheduled although some still felt survivor’s guilt over if they were the only one in their squadron to survive.

3
DO NOT FREEZE
Fully cooked pasta
Freezing pasta (or rice, for that matter) is never a good idea for the same reason that reheating refrigerated pasta can be so tricky. Once fully cooked, pasta and other starchy grains can’t withstand much more heat. Needless to say, the amount of heat required to revive a frozen pasta is a bridge too far. The end result? A mushy mess that bears no resemblance to the al dente dinner you were dreaming of.

Wine
Any sommelier or wine connoisseur would tell you to absolutely not freeze wine…and that’s valid, assuming your intention is to drink it straight from the glass in the future. All types of wine, or at least the kind worth drinking in the first place, can be re-corked and stored in the fridge for three to five days after opening—and some of us (raises hand) would say that is plenty of time to finish the job. Still, if you’re a particularly light drinker who’s loath to see that half bottle go to waste, you can and should freeze it. The catch? Once thawed, the wine should be used for cooking purposes only, not for imbibing, as it will most certainly have lost most of its character in the harsh climate of your freezer.

GETTING HIGH

Billy Crystal
The actor is claustrophobic, so when he found out he had to do an MRI, he sought some help from cannabis-infused gummies. The guy at the store told him "'two will make you feel good.' So I said, 'I really want to feel fabulous,'" Crystal told Jimmy Fallon on August 11, 2021. He took four!
Thirty minutes into the MRI, Crystal said he got an attack of the munchies and asked the medical crew if they could get him Taco Bell and some "gumbo, or Nutella French toast." After it was over, he joked that he left the building in his gown, "So I came back in, I got dressed, and I went to Taco Bell and had a nacho fry box."

2

Is it safe to eat bread mold?
Sure, you can eat moldy bread and be just fine. But you could also get sick from it. “Some instances of mold growth on food can represent a food safety hazard,” says Abby Snyder, Ph.D., assistant professor of food science at the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. “Some molds produce mycotoxins when they grow on certain foods—corn, wheat, and peanuts, for example.” Mycotoxins, in case you’re not familiar with them, are toxic compounds that are naturally produced by certain types of fungi, per the World Health Organization (WHO). Mycotoxins can lead to nausea, cramping, and vomiting, Chapman points out.

recidivism

What It Means

Recidivism is relapse into criminal behavior, or more broadly, a tendency to relapse into a previous condition or mode of behavior.

// The county's new program has been very successful in reducing recidivism rates.

whoopensocker (English)
Origin & history
Whoop (alteration of whopper) + -en (as in German surnames like Oppenheimer and Guggenheimer) + sock ("to hit or strike") + -er (as in German surnames like Oppenheimer and Guggenheimer); patterned after German surnames like Oppenheimer and Guggenheimer.
Noun
whoopensocker (pl. whoopensockers)
(slang, chiefly, Wisconsin) Something remarkably large; whopper.
That’s a whoopensocker of a cheese curd.

2
The Royals when they travel

They pack their own blood
It sounds a bit morbid, but both the Queen and Prince Charles carry around a bag of their own blood!

Royal protocol prevents two royal heirs from traveling on the same flight in case of a crash. Protecting the royal lineage and succession to the throne has gripped this family for over 1200 years. Even Kate Middleton's toddlers have to abide.

Alongside rare-cooked steaks, anything spicy or exotic, and foreign tap water, the royal family cannot consume shellfish while traveling. Shrimp tempura? Nope. Lobster roll in Japan? Not a chance. Oysters on a date? Forget it.

Keeping kids entertained while traveling is literally the biggest challenge any parent, sibling, or family member can face. If you've ever sat near a screaming kid on a plane, you'll know what this is actually like. If you're the parent of that poor child, you'll know how it feels to have the whole world watch you (and judge you). Royal kids are reportedly not allowed iPads or smartphones under Kate Middleton's strict parenting protocol, but this travel rule is the most bizarre one we've ever heard. Monopoly is actually banned in the royal family, according to The Telegraph.

UNHEALTHY F OOD

It may be nature’s Gatorade — as Women’s Health put it — but not all coconut waters are created equal.

Coconut water seems to be largely adored for its high electrolyte content, with one cup giving you 15% of your daily intake of potassium, which is an important nutrient for kidney and muscle function, according to Healthline.

One of the most well-known brands, Vita Coco — which has a substantial TikTok following and has made appearances at Coachella — has a variety of flavors on offer. But, watch out for their creeping calories.

While its original coconut water clocks in at a respectable 45 calories per serving and only 4% of your recommended daily intake of carbohydrates, the fruity flavors like pineapple and peach-mango have 60 calories and 14-15 grams of sugar.

Many people turn to coconut water to help them rehydrate after a long session at the gym, but because it has less carbs and sodium than sports drinks, it might not give you the energy boost you’re craving after the kettle bells.

It is also not recommended for people with a history of kidney disease, according to a dietician at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center who warns that too much of the potassium in coconut water can be harmful.

B) Egg whites, and their omelets, have long been called the healthy alternative to eating the whole egg — since 1968, according to the National Library of Science.
For admittedly good reasons, they have consistently been recommended for people on low-cholesterol diets, but arguments for the health benefits of egg yolks have ramped up since the mid-1990s.

Mayo Clinic issued a reminder that while egg yolks are naturally high in cholesterol, they don’t seem to increase our cholesterol levels in the same way that foods high in saturated or trans fats do.

In general, by separating out the yolks from your breakfast, you are missing out on a raft of nutritional components, like vitamins B12 and D.

Research via the National Library of Science also says that yolks contain nutrients like phosvitin, which reduces the number of compounds in your body that cause inflammation, and peptides, which reduce blood pressure.

If you don’t have a specific medical condition that prohibits you from eating yolks, there is no reason why you can’t enjoy whole eggs as part of a healthy diet.

Volkswagen (German: *;[Note 1] shortened to VW [faʊˈveː] (listen)) is a German motor vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. Founded in 1937 by the German Labour Front, known for their iconic Beetle, it is the flagship brand of the Volkswagen Group, the largest car maker by worldwide sales in 2016 and 2017.[2] The group's biggest market is in China, which delivers 40% of its sales and profits.[3][4] The German term Volk translates to "people", thus Volkswagen translates to "people's car".
Highest production was in 1972 when reportedly 15,000,000 units were produced

DOLLY PARTON

She grew up in a one-bedroom cabin
Despite her large family, Parton and her 11 siblings all lived together in a tiny one-bedroom cabin along the banks of Little Pigeon River in Pittman Center, Tennessee. The home didn’t have running water or electricity. Winters got so cold that they had to go to bed fully dressed, and she once said that the only warmth they would get was when one of the kids wet the bed.

She’s devoted her life to helping children read
The country singer has made it her life’s mission to encourage children to read since her father, like many working men in rural America at the time, never had the chance to learn. She started the Imagination Library in 1995, which gives free books each month to children registered to the program. In 2018 the organization hit a major milestone by delivering its 100 millionth book.

She holds three world records
Parton holds the record for most decades on the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart by a female artist (seven), as well as the most No. 1 hits on the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart by a female artist (25). Most impressively, she has the most total hits on the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart by any artist, with a staggering 109! Her latest to chart was her duet with Reba McEntire, “Does He Love You,” which McEntire originally performed with Linda Davis.

She’s copyrighted over 3,000 songs
Parton is one of the most prolific songwriters of our time. She told CNN in 2002 that she’s been writing virtually non-stop since she was seven years old, estimating that she’s penned roughly 3,000 songs in that time. She doesn’t just write for herself, either. She’s contributed to the songbook of such artists as Waylon Jennings, Kenny Rogers, Bill Phillips, Skeeter Davis, and Merle Haggard.

behemoth

noun | bih-HEE-muth

What It Means

A behemoth is something of monstrous size, power, or appearance. Behemoth (usually capitalized) is also the name of a mighty animal described in the biblical book of Job.

// The town will be voting on whether or not to let the retail behemoth build a store on the proposed site.

Bridgend MP Jamie Wallis denies four traffic offences in Llanblethian, Vale of Glamorgan in November last year.

A witness told Cardiff Magistrates he saw the MP wearing women's clothing inside a Mercedes which had crashed into a lamppost.

The trial at Cardiff Magistrates' Court continues.

Actors Pay

PAY CUT: During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Jonah Hill revealed that he was only paid $60,000 for his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street, a salary that he described as "the lowest amount of money possible." In comparison, his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio made approximately $10 million, meaning that Hill earned 0.006% of his salary.
Hill explained that the pay cut was a small price to pay for the opportunity to work with director Martin Scorsese. He said, "I would sell my house and give him all my money to work for him. ... I would have done anything in the world. I would do it again in a second. This isn't about money. You should do things that you care about."
B)

PAY CUT: In 2017, Variety reported that the original five stars of The Big Bang Theory all agreed to $100,000 per episode pay cuts in order to allow for higher salaries for their co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, who both joined the show in its third season. By the show's 10th season, Bialik and Rauch were making roughly $200,000 per episode, while the five original cast members were making $1 million.
The extra money from the pay cuts agreed to by Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kunal Nayyar, Kaley Cuoco, and Simon Helberg during contract negotiations for Seasons 11 and 12 amounted to $500,000, which was used to bring Bialik and Rauch closer to their co-stars' salaries.

Sperm whales sleep vertically.

Thankfully sperm whales only take naps, usually for between 10 – 15 minutes at a time.

This cat-napping behavior allows them to benefit from a quick nap whilst still being able to stay submerged in the water and keep a lookout for predators

3

gibbous

adjective | JIB-us

What It Means

Gibbous is most often used to describe a moon or planet that is seen with more than half, but not all, of the apparent disk illuminated.

// The lake's calm surface glistened under the light of the waxing gibbous moon.

Conspiracy theories

The government killed JFK.
There are a number of conspiracy theories about President Kennedy's death, but one of the most popular is that the government was behind the assassination. Many Americans don't believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, and biographer Philip Shenon claims that even Bobby Kennedy thought the CIA was responsible for his brother's death at first.

COVID-19 was engineered by the media.
Some people think that the virus is a hoax that was engineered by the media and global elite to control the population. While a die-hard believer likely won't believe us (a.k.a. the media), we're just going to emphasize right here and right now that COVID-19 is very much a real and deadly virus.

The COVID-19 vaccine has a 5G chip inside of it.
When the COVID-19 vaccine rolled out, there was a plethora of conspiracy theories regarding the medication. The most extreme being that the vaccine contained a microscopic 5G chip. The theorists even began circulating a supposed diagram of the chip, which ended up being the electric circuit of a guitar pedal.

Mark Wahlberg – Wahlburgers
Along with older brother Paul Wahlberg, who is a chef, Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg and New Kids On The Block singer Donnie Wahlberg opened the first Wahlburgers restaurant in Hingham, Massachusetts in 2011. The expansion of the restaurant chain coincided nicely with the family’s A and E reality show The Wahlburgers, which wrapped last year after 10 seasons. As of October 2019, the family had a total of 34 restaurants in the U.S. and abroad.

Dan Aykroyd – Crystal Head Vodka
Launched in 2007 by Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd and artist John Alexander, Crystal Head Vodka is known for its distinctive skull-shaped bottle and its pure taste. While it was initially banned in Ontario—where Aykroyd lives—because the bottle design was deemed by the Liquor Control Board of Ontario to be in “bad taste,” a 2011 decision finally allowed the alcohol to be sold there. Since its inception, the brand has won many awards at domestic and international competitions.

George Clooney – Casamigos tequila
Casamigos tequila brand, which loosely translates to “house of friends” in Spanish, is the brainchild of Oscar-winning actor George Clooney, and friends Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman. With the goal of creating the smoothest-tasting tequila on the market, Clooney and his pals launched the brand in 2015 in Britain. The friends reportedly spent two years and tried 700 samples before settling on the perfect formula for their tequila.

Birds

Dippers are members of the genus Cinclus in the bird family Cinclidae, so-called because of their bobbing or dipping movements. They are unique among passerines for their ability to dive and swim underwater.
Dippers are found in suitable freshwater habitats in the highlands of the Americas, Europe and Asia. In Africa they are only found in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. They inhabit the banks of fast-moving upland rivers with cold, clear waters, though, outside the breeding season, they may visit lake shores and sea coasts

This is World French fry day. Three countries - Spain, France and Belgium - claim to have invented the french fry. In Canada, we like to eat fish (preferably halibut) and chips, not fish and french fries. However, we consume loads of bags of potato chips (preferably Ruffles). You can probably get the most delicious fish and chips in England and Scotland (preferably wrapped in newspaper).
