I suspect some of those statistics are highly unreliable. I am sure there are many countries that are more dangerous than Thailand, not only Libya. For example, I have driven in Nigeria and it makes Thailand feel like Switzerland in comparison.

statistics can be misleading.. Thailand is definitely dangerous to drive in but mainly for those driving motorcycles/scooters with no helmets, drunk or both..

I used to drive in Libya years ago; so Thai driving just requires care and attention, not tranquilisers ....

Apparently they didn't rate Bangladesh in the survey,,, I thought Bangladesh was at the top of deaths/thousands of population
Even my Thai workforce were in disbelief of what was happening on the Bangladesh roads on our daily drives to and from work. The 6 hour trip the Dhaka to fly out was extremely dangerous.
