Sorry I can't recommend a good school, but I do recommend that you have plenty of spare cash for the mandatory bung.

Look research and talk to many people here about their experiences. education here is not the same as many western couintries but better than some other countries in the region. many here still believe that money will buy you a good education unfortunately that is not necessarily true. So good luck in your searches.
Ratchinutit for Girls deemed good
Udon Pitt co-ed deemed good
DB you know about. other schools
Udon christian, Pattaya panya and Marie pitak, also St Mary's girls only over 5 yrs .
in truth you takes your pick and pay up.

Good luck and Good hunting

I can't speak for the quality of instruction at Don Bosco, but the inside photo of the new building there certainly looks impressive!
Thanks to bobbi udn at skyscrapercity for the photo!

What are the fees there boes? I have young step-grandchildren and would consider this school. And how many kids are in the classes?

Boes, we also live in the same area you mention, I have a 5 and 7 year old.

Our 5 year old just finished KG2E at Paramin which is within 200 meters of Pattana Panya, and note Paramin has an elementary school too, it was not yet mentioned in this thread. Students are transported by van from the nursery / kindergarten to the elemtary school which is 7 kilometers outside the ring road on the way to Kutchap. Personally I quite like Paramin, focus seems to be on happy well rounded kids with a lot of activities and field trips, and with a native English speaker sharing a class with a Thai teacher and only say 20-25 children in a room.

Our 7 year old moved from Paramin and just finished a first year, first grade at Don Bosco and survived (passed the final exams!) though what I do not like so much at Don Bosco is the amount of homework, pressure on little kids to go to tutors after school in other words so much academics at such a young age, and, traffic jams in and out of ths school twice per day!

For further comments you can PM me, and we connect by phone.

We are homeschooling our (soon-to-be) 4 year old to age 7 and will make a decision what to do next at that time. Worked great for our 12 yo who will be attending Udon-Pit's EP next term. If you decide to homeschool and are looking for kidmates for activities, send a PM.

Technology is not a substitute for knowledgeable teachers. This is another wasteful bandage being applied on a failed system. Right now for example Thailand has/had the license for GeoGeba a mathematics & science computer based software program. I don't think many math teachers are using it. All it requires is a notebook and an overhead projector - which most schools already have.

Thailand needs to stop coming up with grandiose projects and instead focus on small doable task.
