travel insurance

Post by fogeyes » July 28, 2012, 7:40 pm

My father is looking to visit me in Thailand probably in October, coming from England. He is 68 years old
He is having a problem getting insurance as he had a quadruple heart bypass operation in 1994 and has since had 4 stents and is still under the consultant but otherwise is in good health.
Does anybody know of an insurance company that would cover him?
Thanks

Hi Frogeyes ,

I traveled to Thailand last Sept and I have 3 stents fitted , I do make a strange rattle when I walk , due the amount of tablets I am on , but I feel fit and healthy .

Now although I never had a heart attack until they poked me about and put dye into my veins , it is now on my records as having a heart attack .

It cost me just under £400 for my wife and I for three weeks travel , however this was a rush decision with this company as I was let down by the previous company , and had to travel the next day .

So I searching now , as soon as I find one I will let you know .

also I appreciate if you find something to pass it on .

Thanks

I use Allianz in Aus and found the UK web site as Mondial

http://www.mondial-assistance.co.uk/

Maybe try there.

Edit:- Sorry, just did a dummy run on their site and max age is 64.

I use Columbus Direct here in Oz, but they are a UK Company and Tailor Policies for all different circumstances. Follow this Link and let us know how you go ... http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j ... diQVFpxBew
