Bupa is no more, financial problems, and now taken over by Aetna.
Aetna ‘new’ Travel plans only cover Medical, not everything as in the standard Travel plans e.g. Lost/Stolen bags, Flight delay and so on.
The minimum needed for a Thai to Europe will be their Gold plan

Apart from Aetna there are many who offer the full Travel plans for similar premiums – but note Travel insurance is not expensive.

AA Ins Brokers can offer policies from all the big boys – MSIG, AXA, AIG and so on. If we can help please contact us via web site or feel free to email me direct

Aus$300 for couple for 30 days in Thailand.
I guess it depends what one considers expensive.
My house and contents are insured for 12 months for just over twice that amount.
Then again, I guess my house doesn't have to travel on Thai roads etc.😊

Wee Jimmy was talking about Europe not Thailand.

For a couple to visit Thailand for a holiday for a month, prices can start as low as 1,096 Baht for 2 persons for ‘Medical’ Travel Insurance and USD$68 for full Travel Insurance for 2, neither of which you could consider expensive ?

On the other hand we would agree if you are paying Aus$700 for your Australian house insurance as that could be considered to be expensive

I have used MSIG several times

Just to be clear Mortsyn, MSIG is a very good company and one we recommend along with the likes of AXA, Chubb etc. but note only for holidays/trips leaving from Thailand – no good for people like Bluejets visiting Thailand for a holiday.

Yes, I did actually see and understand that it was for travel from Thai to Europe.

Anyone have any claims experience with these quotes?

Quite correct Mortsyn which is why I stressed "only for holidays/trips leaving from Thailand" i.e. not Inbound.
