Top loading washing machine

Post by tamada » December 29, 2022, 4:09 pm

Fed up with the squatters using the water heater option on the Siemens front loader so planning on replacing it with top loader that doesn't have any hot water options. I've had a browse at PowerBuy, Thai Watsadu and DoHome and there's plenty choices with Panasonic, Samsung and the like. Aesthetics of the Haier 12kg machine got my attention at less than 8000 baht. I've seen their fridges and my mate has a couple of their wine cooler cabinets. Anyone else with experience on their household appliances, especially the washing machines?

All I can say is do not buy a Singer with a metal body. Even though the workings were great the body rusted out in 7 years.

Our 4 yo Samsung 13kg, at 7000 Baht (Big C Ban Dung), has been great. Will handle a k i n g size bed Duna without a problem.

Used a top loader for over 20years, currentl;y on my thrid, currently a 98kg Samsung top loader, excellent machine, so simple to operate , the only downside is the Water Filter can sometimes get blocked by debris in the water, I am installing a better filteer between the pump and the outlet to catch more minute stuff.

Good tip on proper water filtration, thanks. The front loader has more frequent issues including slow drainage and clothes not spinning dry as much, ALL of which coincide with my being overseas. One thing I note with my squatters is that while I'm away, they are too lazy to change the main water filters when they clog up and put it on the maintenance bypass. I added that loop to make the filter changing easier, not to permanently bypass the filters.

Thats some washing machine you have there KP .. ny on a 100kg is a lot of apparel , how often do you do a batch of washing?

In reply to Jammy .. my 10 bobs worth .. had Haier ACs and a fridge in the past were and are still ok.. my go to washing machine has always been an LG top loader unlike KPs monster i went for a smaller less industrial 12kg load , i did have an 8kg Electrolux front loader in Buriram which was also a dam good machine but more expensive than the top loaders...

Haier not really known for washing machines i would splash a wee bit more cash and go for either Samsung , LG or Electrolux

That and the frequency of members asking on here where the Samsung service shop is.

Like most things in Thailand, its more a case of how do I contact the guy who works at the service centre and does repairs etc in his own spare time for about a third the price
