EV's in Isaan

Post by tamada » December 14, 2022, 9:55 am

Mulling getting Mrs tam a new ride. Actually, Mrs tam's mulling it but I digress.

This would be a low-mileage runabout, school runs, shopping, short road trips and the like.

Has anyone invested in an EV here in the surging provincial capital of Oodorn?

I've seen two Ora EVs running around town......dealer is the Great Wall (China) across from Charoen Hotel. I've seen chargers at Nongprajak......not sure if they're fitted to particular vehicles. Haven't yet seen a Tesla in town.

Yes, I've seen those Ora's as well. There is also a white Tesla that I've seen frequently on school runs coming in from the Nong Khai direction. It's got local plates.

I was looking at BYD (Build Your Dreams) that are another Chinese brand that's getting attention in the Big Mango. Looks like they only offer the one model at the moment. Mrs tam doesn't want a forklift!

The BYD Han looks decent. Being touted as a rival to Tesla.

At this moment in time, I've often wondered what the attraction is in buying an EV, is it an effort by the buyer to help save the Planet or a Satus symbol or may be just another different toy.
Bring on the Flying Cars, that would be real progress.

What’s the best EV charging station compatible with the BYD Han or dolphin? I am looking at the wallbox (Spain) recommended by EGAT of Thailand.
